Stripes, spots, pots and surveys!

Bloggie pals! Finally, I got my potted plants to bloom again! If you remember, this was one task I set myself to do a couple of months back!

Et voila!

Gumtree says: I show off my stripes!

Charlie says: I show off my spot!

And lastly, today (6th May)  is the first ever National Cat Watch Day!
This survey asks cat owners to observe their chosen cat and complete a questionnaire.  The aim is to understand how cats "use their home and garden and to spot where improvements can be made to their world." Details, here.

Have a great week, y'all!

"I spy...

... with my little eye something beginning with C!" says Gumtree!

Bloggie pals!

After some April showers, the sun came out, the cats frolicked and I started my long delayed plant potting up project!

Hope Spring has truly sprung where ever you are!

Have a great week y'all!

Potty project

Bloggie friends!!

I'm back!! And I can't wait to catch up with all your blogposts!

Charlie says: Get thee away from me, Gummie boy!

Gumtree says: Okee-dokey!

Do you see all my pot plants? The crazy weather this past couple of months have near enough killed them all so my next big project of 2013 is to re-do them come Easter! And if I slacken I just know y'all give me a nudge, a wink and a virtual kick up the derriere to get a move on! :-)

Hoorah!

Have a great week!

Fruits of my labour

Bloggie friends!

Here is my first crop of strawberries fresh from my potted strawberry plant! Yay!

Er... I didn't mean to advertise the brand of honey! Whoops! LOL!

Charlie says: I help you write your story with my back foot.

Pic taken 23rd June! He is so himself again - playing, jumping, eating, playing, jumping!

Unfortunately Charlie's tested positive for the calici virus. Will see the vets soon to discuss his palliative care. In the meantime, I write, write like the wind!

Have a great week, everyone!

A Spring First

Bloggie friends!

Last Saturday, I did my first Spring like activity of the season!

I planted my hanging basket!

Ta-da!

I’m hoping it will fill out eventually! LOL!

Charlie says: I look for my neighbourly friends.

Remember my haiku of last week? Well it’s here but on re-reading it, I must warn that it’s rather depressing and dark and not very good! Oh dear! Sorry!

Have a great week!

Potty pots poetry!

Bloggie friends!

Me and Charlie hung out with our potty pots over the weekend while I recuperated from a nasty viral type illness!

And no, those are NOT crocs! I may have been ill but there’s no excuse for not being stylish! LOL!

I managed to compose a haiku that I hope I’ll be able to share with you all once it’s made public but that was the best writerly thing I could do all week!

Hope you all had a fab weekend! Did ya see the big super moon?!?! WOWZA

p.s. crocs are lovely, really! Ahem!

Of Cobs and Best Tokens

Bloggie friends!

Before I show you my yummy Cob bread, does anyone need extra bonus tokens from Best magazine for their short story competition?

The tokens were published each week in their mag plus extra ones.

So if you’d like an extra two please do email me! You need to have four to enter the competition.

I have my story all written for it – I’ll never win but YOU MIGHT!!

This is a great opportunity to crack that oh so elusive and ever so shrinking commercial women’s magazine fiction market. Thanks lovely womagwriter and Patsy for the heads up!

So, without much further ado, here is my Cob! Ta-da! I halved the amount of the ingredients from this recipe!

In the meantime, Charlie gets high on pruned bits of old potted catnip!

Have a fantabulous weekend everyone!

Three little herbs

Once upon a time, there were three little pots who went to the Old Kitty academy of gardening.

Two were Basil and Chives, the other, Parsley and they were each all planted with hazardous seedlings.

But I took them away from all that, and now they grow for me.

My name is Charlie.

This bit of inspired madness was completely lifted from the original narration to Charlie’s Angels.

I just wanted to show my mixed successes with growing these herbs! LOL!

Yes, more August silliness, bloggie friends! Enjoy!

Stories of Victorian Webs

A short story - shelved - for over a year. It was a story barely alive. Bloggie friends, we can rebuilt. We have the technology. It will be better than before. Better… stronger… more readable!

With sincerest apologies to the Six Million Dollar Man. LOL!

Happy Victoria Day to all my Canadian bloggie friends!

Here is a hanging basket of mystery flowers especially for you!

Please be so kind as to ignore the cobwebs that seemed to have sprang up overnight in the background!

Charlie says: I am not amused.

Pic of Charlie taken yesterday! Happy dayz!

A Little Mystery

Bloggie friends!

About a month back, I bought a pack of very sad and uncared for miniplug plants from a hardware shop.

The label only said “plants for hanging baskets”.

So here they are after a month of growing! What they will grow into, nobody knows - but what is life without a little mystery?!?!?!

Charlie says: I zap the giant indoor triffid plant with my laser eyes!

It's a four-day Easter weekend!! See y'all real soon! Have a good 'un!!!

Sweep for my sweet!

Bloggie friends!

I hope you had a great London Marathon yesterday!

It was a work day for me but I had the privilege of sharing the train commute with excitable spectators and participants!

In the meantime, Charlie did some gardening.

He says: I sweep the patio with my tail.

To all our bloggie friends in America – we hope you are safe and ok after all that mad weather!

Peace and love as always!

Potty!

Bloggie friends!!

You are all beautiful and brilliant!! Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words yesterday!! I am so beyond happy about everything! Yay!

Now I shall leave you with what I plan to be my big Easter /Royal Wedding Holiday Job come April.

Re-potting up of my pots!

I mean look at the state of them!!! What’s happened to the plants?!?!

Charlie says: Tut-tut!

Isn't it the weekend already? :-)
