An Ouchie and a Tumbly

Bloggie friends!!

I may not be a fan of the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, but he did come out with the bestest insult I've ever heard in a long time!

He called his fellow councillors:

"Great supine protoplasmic invertebrate jellies"

Ouch!

Now here is a snapshot of our routine taken at 6 am this Monday morning!

Charlie busy eating, Gumtree busy watching Bird TV and me busy playing referee!

p.s. HUGE congratulations to penandpaints of The Write Idea blog and the publication of her utterly adorable children's story Tumbly Mouse Sneaks out of the House! It was 8 pages of utter enchantment! Thank you, Cate!

Have a great week y'all!

Your mayor has a keen sense of observation!
Referee? Are you saying Charlie and Gumtree were picking on each other?

"Great supine protoplasmic invertebrate jellies" Haha!

Do you have a whistle to go with your referee position? :)

May I use that insult for my adjoining neighbours?

I hope your week goes well, that you're not still too swamped with work. :-)

He called them what??? Clever man...some may have had to fumble with their dictionaries.

While I've had some difficulty accepting some of Boris' policies, I still love him as a gentleman and a scholar. He comes out with some right crackers, and occasionally does actually have a good policy.

I suppose he has muscles that ripple in every direction and is Mr. Super-Brain.
I remember when Charlie said, "Out of my way, Gummy Boy." They must get in each others face in the morning.

Wow, I wonder how many of the council members understood the insult!

That's an interesting place for Charlie to eat his breakfast. Does Gumtree try to sneak a bite or too?

Have a great week!

And that is a great insult. LOL

You have a 6am routine?! I am very impressed, and slightly disturbed I have no 6am routine. I fear this is why my novel is taking ages. Utilise all the hours, Jayne! As for Boris, he certainly knows a good turn of phrase.

Gumtree has his full attention on Bird TV and Charlie's full attention is on his food. Too funny!

I had to check online dictionary for words between great and jellies. (English is not my first language.) And yes, I'd say Ouch :-) At least I learned new words though! Have a wonderful week!!

What an insult--I think that's that strongest one I've ever heard!

Cute kitties, as always, and Congrats to Cate!

I dearly love creative insults like this - as opposed to the way overused uncreative four letter kinds. There are several websites where you can go read lovely Shakespearean insults! One website even has a button labeled "Taunt me a second time" - grin!

6am? Arggh! I try not to see such times! (Although I was woken at 4.30am by a naughty Millie trying to scratch her way through the landing carpet!)
Thank you very much for the mention, I'm so happy you enjoyed Tumbly's little adventure! :) xx

That sounds like typical Boris - never one to pull his punches. How on earth do you manage to be so lively at 6 in the morning?

Mum was amazed when she read your blog - 6.00 a.m. and you were getting ready to go to work. She had to have a nap to get over the shock!

It reminds me of what I always say! There's nothing like a good insult. I can't do it though.

Ouch!

We had a prime minister down this way that was very noted for his insults to the opposition.

That is the single best insult I've ever heard. I wish politicians in the US Congress came up with stuff like that!
