To bee or not to bee

Bloggie friends!

Although it was quite a chilly day yesterday, the sun made such a decent showing my first bumble bee of the year visited me as I pottered around with my pots!

I think it’s a Queen Bee looking for a place to have her bee babies! She lapped up the sun for a while then buzzed off. I hope she found a lovely safe home to start her empire!

Now that’s what I call celebrating Mothering Sunday!

Charlie says: I try to ignore all that buzz.

Have a wonderful week – see y’all next Monday!

Twinkle twinkle little big stars!

Bloggie friends!

The lovely Susan Kane of thecontemplativecat just emailed me with the fabbo news that for a few nights only the UK night skies (11/12 March) will be graced with the sight of FIVE PLANETS! Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus. Details here.

I’ve just returned from wandering outside in the dark in the hope of catching a glimpse of these planets with my naked eye. All I saw was the big round pregnant full moon glowing a glorious sheen of red but then I ran back in the house when I heard howling dogs heading my way!

Ahem.

Now try saying Uranus without tittering! LOL!

Charlie says: I glow under the sun’s rays.

Pic taken 10 March - Spring was truly in the air!

Happy St Patrick’s and Happy Mother’s Day (UK) this weekend! See y'all on Monday.

Mum's the word and Judi-Bug!

There was a fabulous meteorite shower all over the UK at the weekend and I missed it.

LOL!

So here instead is the best bit of a conversation I overheard on my commute to work yesterday illustrating why mums are just brilliant!

Mum of teenage girl: You’re not overweight, you’re underheight. If you were 6 feet 10 you’d be normal weight.
:-)

Speaking of mums – today me and Charlie are waving a big hello to wonderful mum Judi-bug of SASS. She’s just had a biopsy and we have everything crossed for good news.

She gave Charlie such a wonderful hat to wear and today we honour her by showing it off here again.

Charlie says: I enjoy the spring sun on next door neighbour's mat.

Pic taken last Saturday when it was sunny and warm. Sunday was wet and windy and just horrible!

Happy Spring everyone!

Evil Genius and Fire of Cassa!

To celebrate beautiful Golden Eagle's Aerial Perspective's 2 year blogoversary, she is hosting an Evil Genius blogfest and asks: Who is your evil genius?

Well, my evil genius is my writer's block:

Charlie says: I move only for extra treats.

CASSAFIRE BLOG PARTY!

28 February sees the launch of the sequel to CassaStar by the yummy Alex J Cavanaugh!

The Vindicarn War is a distant memory and Byron'’s days of piloting Cosbolt fighters are over. He has kept the promise he made to his fallen mentor and friend - to probe space on an exploration vessel.

The detection of alien ruins sends the exploration ship to the distant planet of Tgren. If their scientists can decipher the language, they can unlock the secrets of this device.

To complicate matters, the Tgrens are showing signs of mental powers themselves; the strongest of which belongs to a female pilot named Athee. Forced to train Athee's mind Byron finds his patience strained. All Byron wanted was his privacy….

Please visit Alex here! There's a chance to win a special CassaFire goody bag! There'a also a trailer here!

CassaFire will be available from 28th Feb here:
Barnes and Noble , Amazon, Amazon Kindle

This post will be up all week so thank you so much for reading! Happy March!!!

An Unwritten book

“...perhaps an unwritten book is an even more powerful weapon than one which has been published. It has a way of filling the air with its menace or its promise, the sweet art of what might have been.”
From the beautiful Colm Toibin (source)

Bloggie friends, in the Year of the Dragon, say goodbye to your “what might have beens”.

As Captain Jean Luc Picard would say, “make it so”.

Charlie says: Beam me up!

I am busy with my own unwritten book – starting from scratch – so forgive me if I grow scarce in the blogosphere... (who am I kidding, my name is Old Kitty and I'm a blogger addict! LOL!)

Thank you all for your e-reader advice!! You are all shiny stars!!

And yes, I have hot water again! Yay!

The Aroma of Love and E-Reader Conundrum

Bloggie friends!

I stink! Literally! Just like my bad poetry!

I’ve not had any hot water for the last 6 days. Yes, during the coldest snap in all of the UK.

Tomorrow the plumber arrives. With his big wrench. Ahem.

Charlie says: I clean my foot before I taste the glittery ball. (No he didn’t!)

Of course I look forward to struggling to reach my front door for the amount of Valentine’s cards I’m going to get through the post! LOL!

Also over at lovely Kim's Musings on a Small Life, she's contemplating going over to the Dark eSide and buy an e-reader other than Kindle. Post here. She lives in Canada! Don't let that put you off! LOL! But seriously! All I can think of is that other e-readers have covers you can flip open! I like that! Any e-reader thoughts to share please?

We shall see y’all on the other side!

p.s. I don't really stink - I boiled lots of water for my daily ablutions! LOL!

Riddle-me-dee

A Riddle by Old Kitty

He stalks across the snowy path
He jumps on walls and shows his wrath
He blends in with the virgin ice
He purrs and meows and looks so nice!
Who is this creature, this little beastie?
Why of course it’s the one and only Charlie!

Pics taken on the 5th of February when snow finally arrived! Yay!

To lovely Helena of Becoming Layla! I cannot access your blog - this nasty message keeps coming up:
"FORBIDDEN: You don't have permission to access / on this server"
I hope you are reading this – I am waving a big hello to you! Hope I’ll be unforbidden soon!
