Names! Nerds!

Bloggie pals!!

Gumtree says: I look for Charlie.

Star Trek: Into Darkness was utterly utterly fabulous. I give it a gazillion stars and then some! If you are going to see it I promise you, you won't be disappointed! It made this trekker nerd very happy indeed!

And you know what else made me happy? A footballer called "Fitz Hall" is know as "One Size" to his fans.

Yes. As in  "one size fits... "

Have a great week y'all! :-)

p.s. I didn't make up Mr Hall's nickname, I read about it here!

Boldly going with camels!

Bloggie friends!

I am soooooooooooo excited I can barely contain myself!!

Today (Monday) I shall be ensconced in a lovely imax cinema watching Star Trek: Into Darkness in glorious 3D and imax!!!!!!!

*Squeals with girlish delight*!!!!!!

So while I am away, here is a pic of two beautiful Bactrian camels outside my office window taken a couple of weeks back.

The School of African and Oriental Studies held a Camel Conference (I kid you NOT) and these two beauties were there to highlight just how important these creatures are to the livelihoods of so many!

And I repeat, they were right outside my window at work!!!!!

Me and Charlie and The Gumster promise to visit y'all eventually but first we must boldly go where no-one has gone before! :-)

Have  a great week!!

An Unwritten book

“...perhaps an unwritten book is an even more powerful weapon than one which has been published. It has a way of filling the air with its menace or its promise, the sweet art of what might have been.”
From the beautiful Colm Toibin (source)

Bloggie friends, in the Year of the Dragon, say goodbye to your “what might have beens”.

As Captain Jean Luc Picard would say, “make it so”.

Charlie says: Beam me up!

I am busy with my own unwritten book – starting from scratch – so forgive me if I grow scarce in the blogosphere... (who am I kidding, my name is Old Kitty and I'm a blogger addict! LOL!)

Thank you all for your e-reader advice!! You are all shiny stars!!

And yes, I have hot water again! Yay!

All Aboard!

Welcome bloggie friends to gorgeous Captain Ellie's Star Trek blogfest!

Here are my five most favouritist things about all things Star Trek - and mainly from the 1960's original series.

1) Tribbles – what's not to like? They purr, are furry and make most humanoids smile!

Giant Tribble!

2) Lt Uhura’s sexy red uniform – hubba, hubba!

3) Dilithium Crystals – the words just roll off my tongue like liquid chocolate!

funny pictures - If Animals Played Star Trek #21

4) Seatbelts. Or Lack Of. Y'all must have seen the episodes where the crew on deck are attacked and they get flung about and out of their seats for lack of anything to strap them into their seats.

5) “Boldly going forward cos we can’t find reverse” lyrics from The Firm’s homage to the series and their classic catchphrases.

The end! Charlie and I consider ourselves confined to quarters for the rest of the journey!

She cannae take it!

Bloggie friends!

Why do they make snacks look like cute and cuddly baby bears?!!?

See? I may love my snacks, but I also eat my greens! :-)

Now bloggie friends! The lovely Ellie Garrat will be hosting a Star Trek As We Know It blogfest on 22 August. All you have to do is list 5 of your all time favourite Star Trek things – characters, episodes – anything – and why!

I just had to sign Charlie up cos he’s a Trekker Kitty through and through.

Charlie says: I see Klingon birdie. Phasers set to stun.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone!
