A tiny love story published!

Bloggie friends!

Some nice writerly news for me!

My flash fiction story “It started with a kiss” is now published in an anthology called Time for Love, available only as an ebook, price £1.54!

Now we all know true love is priceless, but this is a bargain (details here)! LOL!

The book is a compilation of 18 long listed stories - out of 70 entrants - from a Valentine’s Day flash fiction competition! It was a real boost to my ego to receive a nice email from the editor (waves to Gail) informing me I’d made the cut! Yay!

Charlie says: There’s a moose loose in the hoose.

(Yes those are scratch marks on his face! He came home with them but he’s fine! The mouse is innocent!)

HAPPY EASTER!! See you all some time, Error 503 allowing!

RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

Bloggie friends!!

I’ve been writing. Creative writing! Yes I have!

I joined a couple of writerly blogfests and hope to ambush you all with my scribblings this week.

You have been warned!!!

Suspend all incredulity and eye rolling to the ceiling!!!!

Cancel all lectures, Christmas shopping, pencil and pen biting and marvel as to why I was voted “girl most likely to have a zit growing on her nose on a monthly basis”.

Ahem.

Charlie says: I am so blinded by the spot on your conk I have to scratch myself!

My offerings will be:

A very bad but very seasonal poem of 64 words for the lovely Ellie’s Christmas Tales blogfest. (for 12th December)

A 124 word "who lives here?!?!" narrative for Ms Maddocks' Through the Keyhole blogfest.
(er... any day this week!)

Love you all! Do join in if you wish (click on links for more info!)
19 preposterous days to Christmas!!!

Happy Monday!

My not quite winning flash story!

I dashed off a flash story for a competition when I first started blogging, thanks to KateM.

I didn't win but it was nice that the competition holders mentioned my story and gave me a really nice and helpful critique.

The site will publish the short-listed entries here over the next few days or so, starting tomorrow.

Sorry, just me doing a blatant self-publicising thing. I'll be really glad for any feedback! Only if you want to of course.

LOL!

Flash, ahaaa!

I saw this rather grand and intriguing concept on Simon Kewin's site. The idea is that he write a flash story of 100 word in two years - one word a week.

Of course I was hooked!

So off I go clicking on the story.

He has written 19 words so far.

One word per blog entry.

And what do I do?

I read from the top.

I read the last word from the top and then scroll down.

And I don't stop reading until I scroll right down.

I have effectively read his story backwards.

:-)

Only then did I go....

Whoops.

In the meantime, the cat is very slowly finding her mojo. Tonight she has allowed me two inches of seat.
