Bloggie pals!
Beautiful and super talented Niamh Boyce of Words a Day blog debuts her wonderful book The Herbalist (published by Penguin) this year and I've read it and all I can say is "WOW"!
Imagine a literary equivalent of a Douglas Sirk film with gritty realism and plenty of heart!
Bestest of all she’s visiting me to answer my silly
questions:
1) What is your favourite herb (s)? I love the scent of lemon thyme.
2) How could you do that to Carmel?! And Eliza* LOL!
I know! But it wasn’t me honestly - the characters in this book did as they pleased, all I could do was watch and weep...
*Eliza is a much loved pig.... and Carmel is my favourite character in the book!
Thank you lovely Niamh! And all the best with your guaranteed bestseller!
Thank you
Old Kitty, it’s a pleasure to be here, and thank you for your kind words.

The Herbalist:
Set in
1930’s small town Ireland, a seemingly exotic Herbalist appears in the market
square and mesmerises a headstrong and precocious 17 year old Emily. But why do
the other women of the town seek his expertise so surreptitiously?
Some more fab reviews for The Herbalist here!
A gazillion trillion super stars from me and paws up from the Gumster and Charlie!

I loved this book. Even when I wanted to throttle the characters. I'm so glad I am a woman today with the choices I have rather than a woman then.
I want this book to sell millions of copies!
