No pain, no gain

Now I’m all for alternative treatments that help to beautify and de-stress.

Gentle yoga for instance or a drop or two of lavender oil in one’s bath and scalp and maybe a stick or three of lit josticks to clear the air of cat-litter smell.

And maybe some rosewater in a bowl of pot pourri to chase that garlic aroma from the kitchen.

But I think this is one too much even for “I will try anything once” me.

Beautiful bloggie friends, may I present : A bed of nails:

“ The pressure of the rounded nails against the skin may help the body release endorphins, which provides a sense of joy, energy and pain relief, and oxytocin, which makes you feel calm and relaxed.”

Available exclusively at Harvey Nichols.

Charlie says: who needs nails when you can relax by simply stretching like so after hours of fun with Mr MacDoonagoogle?

Have a lovely stress free Tuesday everyone!

Wonder how sharp those nails are? They looked kind of rubbery to me. the kind I wouldn't mind rubbing my back. Does Daniel Craig come along with this kit of nails?

I agree with Charlie. Get on the floor and stretch. Or use a nice yoga mat. That bed of nails costs way too much anyway! :)

i bet charlie would do his stretches on your back, kinda like a fluffy bed of nails

I totally agree with Charlie's approach...I tried yoga once but rolled off of the couch...ouchy!

Oh my, I don't think I'd find a bed of nails relaxing. I'll stick to the lavender oil or a nice long massage!

I think I'll go the Charlie way!! Especially after the day I've just had (see my blog entry I'm about to post).

I think the joy, energy, and pain relief come when you get up and off the d*mn bed of nails! LOL!

That Charlie is one smart cat. A bed of nails to relax you! Are 'they' whoever they are...Crazy! Having pontificated, I hope I don’t have one in a few months. How embarrassing would that be?

We agree with Charlie!...Hope you both have a happy week!

Sounds kind of like the shoes we used to wear that were like walking on a bed of rubber nails. It was supposed to be de-stressing too but mostly it was just painful!

I think Charlie has the better idea.

If the kit of nails includes Daniel Craig, I'll take it! Otherwise, not so much. Charlie looks like he's doing just fine without it.

Of course the advertisement says "may help the body release endorphins". It could have just as easily said may cause a horrible rash. I think I will pass.

I enjoy a trip to Harvey Nichols when I'm in England! I do not enjoy lying on any sort of nail, however. (Rounded or not.) I post an award for you today!

Charlie is the complete opposite of a bed of nails!

After years of discomfort, I finally traded in my old, rickety bed for a plush one and I'm not about to give it up.

KarenG, I think Daniel Craig is taken. I agree that it doesn't look sharp in the picture.

Why do women do this to themselves?! It reminds me of the pain involved in at-home hair removal torture devices.

Wow-where do I buy one from? sounds great-almost as good as eating a box of chocolate.

Hello:)
I just found your blog, and added myself as a follower instantly - your cat being the reason why:)

oh, we have those mats in Norway too - everyone seems to have one. I don't see why self-harming is so popular these days:)

We thing all we need to relieve stress is a Mr. Macdoonagoogle. He is the best and look how relaxed Charlie is. Who needs a bed of nails.
Hope you have a wonderful day.

Thanks but no thanks to this iea Ms. Kitty. I'm finishing up college at 57 so I think I've had my bed of nails. LOL

I think they would find a better way to press your acupressure points than nails!!!!! Good idea - bad presentation. Charlie has the best idea - yoga stretches!

Oh my good lord. Only Harvey Nics!

I won't be buying these anytime soon, that's for sure.

Happy Tuesday!

I'm assuming the distribution of pressure would prevent the nail bed from hurting.

:S

It's doubtful I'll be rushing out to buy one.

Is it worrying that I'm actually tempted to look up how much one of those costs? It just sounds so good - imagine waking up joyful, energetic AND calm - surely too good to be true. I'm not a morning person and just wake up very sleepy! xx

I'm funny for asking this, but is the bed of nails for people or cats? I like your Kitty! He looks happy! <3

Thanks for following my blog! :)
