Fantasy vs. Reality

The Fantasy:

The Reality:

:-)

I could do a very clever writer-ly metaphor about the perils of not following tried and tested methods and about cutting corners and impatience..... but I think I'll just leave Charlie to salvage the dregs of my baking reputation by distracting you all with his cuteness and with some chocolate!

Now what about the new Dr Who?!?!?! Wasn't that just BRILLIANT?

Happy Easter Sunday everyone!

Momma had to give up on the baking...she developed dy-o-beet-tees and had to lose a lotta weight...which she did. Well over 100 pounds...now she doesn't have the dy-o-beet-tees anymore, but she can't eat any of the baked stuff...she feels it's a good trade off and we have a healthy Momma so we agrees.

Hoppy Easter!

Except for the lack of icing, they look great to me! Send one over and I'll do a taste test. ;-)

Wow, Abby's mom lost 100+ pounds! Gees, I need some motivation to give up baked goods too, only I'd rather it not be a medical reason. Of course, if I keep gaining weight, it will be!

Charlie is just so laid back...He reminds of my Chumley in that regard. That and all his floof.

Happy Easter!

I am hunting the web for a link to the new Doctor Who. I think Matt Smith is going to be FAB!

My hubby is a chef and got a huge commercial gas stove which I was afraid to use! Thus I stopped baking and cooking....not that his pastries are any better than mine! Loved your Sat post - love love Little Shop of Horrors - will see it in any form! I hope it worked to inspire you. Happy Easter!

The reality would look like the fantasy if you put a little icing on it. Really, icing makes all the difference. And Charlie looks 100% comfortable and adapted to his wonderful new home!

You did better than I did...I didn't even try to bake HCBs...I hope Charlie gets ots of treats from the Easter Bunn. Have a lovely Easter, Kitty.

I missed Dr Who but I got it recorded.

Charlie does a grand job of distracting.

lupie said...

Well, at least it looks edible, and safe!

My first attempt at baking resulted in solid-stone-hard buns capable of double homocides...

Love and hugs to Charlie!!

Yes, we agree about the new Dr Who it was great fun and what exciting adventures to come. Happy Easter from me FAZ plus Birks sends his purrs to you all too but I am not very happy with him as he woke me up this morning at 4 am for a game of chase. The humans had to shut us in separate rooms to stop the mayhem

Oh, poor you!

I'm a horrendous baker. I avoid it because NOTHING looks or tastes like it's supposed to. Aside from this one, you've had much more success. On the upside, it looks like you're covered with sweet alternatives.

Have a lovely day!

Yuck. Those bottom ones look like the top ones after they've been through the intestinal tract of a troll and then breathed on by a dragon.

As for the new Who — not so sure the villains were up to much and the overall story had shades of the Sycorax/Judoon episodes, but given that DT was always going to be a hard act to follow, I thought Matt Smith was great.

Maybe next week he can take on your hot cross buns.

I've watched Dr Who now, and the new one took a bit of getting used to. He's not a hunk by any means and the first five minutes almost drove me barmy but I think he'll be a fun doctor.

Ann said...

I thought the buns looked great. I have never attempted to bake HCB. Pat on the back to you for a great effort.

Late with my comments...Hattie is not well. The time has come, I think.
