A Tail to be told

So here is Charlie or rather Charlie’s tail.

He came to me via the ether of the internet from the lovely Jane Smith of How Publishing Really Works who knew of Charlie from her friend Jo who couldn’t have him anymore because her new home didn’t allow furry creatures and who kindly had her brother and girlfriend drive Charlie for two hours in the rain to me before going on further to Clacton - for a hopeful seaside trip.

Charlie arrived at 10.40 am, 20 March 2010.

Phew.

I forget how young an 8 year old cat can be. I forget how agile a cat can be. I forget how curious and how full of curiosity a cat can be. I am reminded on an hourly basis how his mind is zipping through feline thoughts at a zillion times per second – wanting to touch this, smell that jump here, squeeze through that gap - any gap.

What’s behind that door? Boxes of clutter I can’t seem to part with, Charlie!

What’s that on the windowsill? My sister’s floral arrangement she gave me for Christmas. I think the flowers are all dried up now…

And who is that mad woman waving outside at me? It’s the lovely Sue, Charlie! She adores kitty cats and doggy dogs.

What’s that noise? It’s the new next door neighbours – the young couple having a errr.. very good time! You’ll soon get used to it, Charlie!

At 4.30 am he woke me up by leaning with his furry paws up on the edge of my duvet and going: “purr-eow”.

So I took Mr McDoonagoogle and we both ran along the hallway with Charlie chasing after us.

I shall leave Mr McDoonagoogle for another day.

Handsome, floofy, GORGEOUS Charlie seems to be settling in just fine!

But of course the reference to a mysterious Mr. McDoonagoogle has peaked my interest! Please don't keep us waiting days and days (or worse, weeks) for an explanation.

And do give Charlie a big smooch from me!

Charlie is a very handsome and charming cat! He's s big guy like my Bo. Is he also affectionate and a lap sitting cat?

I'm so glad he chose to live with you, Old Kitty! You do know that we don't find cats..they find us! :-)

Oh, thank you for the pics! You know I can't have a cat due to daughter's allergies, but I feel like Charlie is part mine! He is so beautiful! He's the most beautiful cat I've ever seen! Clearly his owners took excellent care of him, and now he's at another wonderful home :)

Can't wait to hear more about Charlie, (and see more pics).

Oooo - he looks so regal in the last picture. Charlie seems to be settling right in. And I think he has the best tail EVER.

I hope he's easing some of the sadness. He must be because the pictures made my day.

What a lovely Tale! I am happy for you. Cats help make homes. My Aunt had a very wise and unusually cuddly Siamese named "Charlie". Hope yours is as sweet.
Congratulations,

Hi KarenG

Oh Jo, Charlie's previous owner was so so devastated to lose him - it's really quite sad!

So I feel a million times responsible for poor Charlie! I hope to post more pics soon - also because it's the only way Jo would keep track of him really!

It's lovely to meet Charlie properly at last! What a gorgeous tail - does he let you brush his soft and fluffy fur? Sorry about the very early start to your day though - we're trying to train Archie to sleep till we get up and he's doing quite well, but he does have a bit of a purr occasionally in the night. Hope you and Charlie have a good day tomorrow with lots more interesting discoveries and exploring for him to do! xx
