My laid back muse was trying to tell me something yesterday as I tore my hair out over my password protected document.
Re-write everything from scratch.
My novel has always been in my head and I am lucky enough not to need a password to access that. Well not yet anyway! In the meantime, may I introduce Mr MacDoonagoogle who keeps Charlie company while I tap away at my masterpiece. :-)
I have six weeks to get at least three chapters done. Charlie has at least another week and a half before I introduce him to the big wide world outside my front door. Yikes!
I think Charlie is doing ok. His appetite grows, he speaks to me more often, he visits "downstairs" without wanting me to accompany him and he allows me to groom him and clean his left eye (a torn tear duct from when he had cat flu as a kitten). I think he is settling down well.
So long as Mr MacDoonagoogle is around of course. Charlie has his muse close to hand, I mean, paw, I need to wake mine up!
Oh and this is what Charlie thinks of my photographic efforts!
He doesn't even blink at the evil flashy thing...! What a trouper!

Both the cats I've been responsible for have always been terribly suspicious of purpose built cat toys.... then they go off and make their own out of things they shouldn't! Oh well! :)
Oh Charlie is such a cutie! It is good that he is getting more comfortable! And it is good that you have your novel in your head - I have a great idea for a story but can't even get to the point of getting past that point. That seems like a short time for three chapters (to me at least - probably not for a good writer) so we are wishing you lots of luck and no problems along the way!
Ah, Mr. MacDoonagoogle, nice to meet you. LOL. Charlie is just so adorable. Does he need to go out? Will he be safe?
Perhaps it's more common in North America to have indoor-only kitties. Well, you know the lengths I go to to try and give the fur family safe outdoor time. LOL. Anyway, I will cross fingers and paws that Charlie is sensible and will stay safe (unlike a certain cat named Nicki).
As for your novel--rewriting from scratch sounds utterly daunting to me. But I expect that it will be even better than the first time--presumably you have more knowledge about the craft/art of writing now. Perhaps it's even easier to start over than to edit. Good luck!
P.S. I'm delighted with your photographic efforts--did you get a little digital camera? There's a camera box in the first two shots! :-)
He very special - sorry he couldn't help you remember the password!
It is so nice to see Charlie settling in, be careful with him if he ventures out...it's scary out there. I love your big smile Charlie!
Well of course your novel is in your head. Why didn't I think of that! Charlie is looking right at home. Charlie is one lucky cat. No better woman to pull three chapters out of the head!
Charlie looks like he's adjusting just fine - he looks very comfortable in his new home! I'm sorry to hear you couldn't find your password, but rewriting from scratch will probably end up being a great thing. Just think of all the time you've had for those ideas to percolate in your brain - I'm sure you'll have lots of new great stuff to bring to the story.
It's so nice to see Charlie doing well and enjoying his new life :) YAY for that! He is such a cutie! xoxo
This year was the first year Santa didn't bring our cats toys...We have a big basket of unused cat toys...The only thing they have ever enjoyed was a laser light...
I'm glad Charlie is adapting well to his new home...I love coming here and talking cats. :)
Great pictures of your sweet, handsome boy; our Mommy wants to rub those fluffy furs on his beautiful white tummy!!...Our Mommy thought Mr. McDoonagoogle was a Charlie toy!...Glad to hear you have the novel in your head and can rewrite it for use in your class; good luck with that!...Always sending kisses to Charlie!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Charlie looks like a very, very happy cat!!! and a good natured one at that. You've struck it lucky methinks.
So the internet affects everyone's lives, even Charlie's - although he doesn't know it, does he? you can tell that just from looking at him... .
Charlie looks gorgeous! He's really coming into his own now.
Such a Handsome Lad! I like Charlie's yawn!! Seems to me, Charlie and his muse are quite situated in his new home--you and Charlie are made for each other. You two bask in each other's effervesence....!
Oh Charlie you are a love muffin! WE just adore your handsome floofiness and sweet ways. We are so glad to see you so happy! Whisper sweet meows in your Mom's ear at night to help her remember her password!!
And be careful out there in the world outside your door, we want you always to be safe.

What a fluffy ball of fur - he's like a pillow!
The upside is that if you rewrite the book, you'll incorporate what you've learned into your wording and structure and it will be better than before, I'm sure.
I like your muse chain.
Have a great weekend!
He is SO fluffy and lovely!
Best of luck with your three chapters. I'm sure your story will be even better this time around!
What a beautiful cat Charlie is! So handsome!

Hi Kim
Yes, I got me a digi cam!! I tossed aside the silly little manual and just pointed the camera and pressed the button and hoped for the best!! Charlie was/is such a good model tho - he really didn't mind one bit!
I'm going to take my time with introducing Charlie to the outside. I won't rush it. My tough ol girl only wanted to go as far as next door, nibble grass and then run back in. Her brother however used to wander all the way to the vets... I have a feeling Charlie is gonna be that way - although he really just sleeps close to me at the moment and snifs around the house a bit so no rush. He is getting more and more interested with staring out of the windows though...
Take care

Hi Brian

Charlie is really such a handsome cat ... and so animated.
Good luck with your novel writing!
I think half a chapter a week is a pretty good goal. You can totally do it and you will feel amazing when you do! (P.S. Love the pics)
Meow, I'm not much about cats but the rest of my family certainly is.
I just read your Pratchett quote on your side bar. I adore Pratchett and wish he was my dad or at least neighbor. He's that cool.
Charlie is a real saucepot (says our Mum) We really like those two black spots by his ears - most characterful!
