There was nothing the vet's could do. She died growling and spitting and raging at the Big L. Seventeen years and 8 months. I was hoping we'd see our birthdays together.
It's raining outside. I'm home now and finding little bits and pieces of her.

So sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. She was really 17 years old? That's amazing. And if you had her since she was a kitten, that's like raising a child to adulthood. Oh, so sad for you.
She's at peace now, and had the most wonderful life with you XXXXXXX You're a very special lady.
I hope you can find comfort in the fact that she is at peace now...I know there are no words for the emptiness that follows this kind of devastating loss; grief is such a heavy burden and I hope you will keep blogging...All that matters now is that you loved each other, shared a wonderful life together and you gave her a loving, happy home...Take care of yourself now; I am so sorry for your loss.
I hope this helps. Found it for a friend when her friend went to the bridge.
The Purry Gates
It seems that I've reached Heaven,
or it's doorstep at any rate,
and been winding round St. Peter's ankles
by the Pearly Gates,
I've plucked the angels' harp strings
and made a merry sound,
But it's plucking at my heartstrings
that you are not around.
So I think I'll sit and wait here,
just outside the door,
And as the souls come floating in,
I'll tap them with my paw,
And when you seek admittance,
they'll rename this place -
It will become Purradise,
and these the Purry Gates!

Oh Kitty, poor you. That's a long time together. It's dreadful losing a much-loved pet - I don't know what to say.
I'm so sorry Kitty.
Just so sorry.
So sorry Kitty.
xx
Oh, I read the earlier post first, of course.....What can I write to offer comfort? Nothing. Sending (((hugs))) and Light and I have a cyber candle burning for you both. :-(
I'm so sorry for your loss, Kitty. Pets are such an enormous blessing, is it any wonder we feel their loss so strongly when they're gone? You've given her a wonderful home and lots of love, and she's at peace now. I'll be unplugged for a week or so, so I'll miss seeing your posts and hearing how you're doing, but I'll be sending you hugs and wishing you peace and comfort.
So sorry to hear this. She's out of pain now.
I wish there was something I could say that would lessen your grief. Having a cat as a companion is such a special relationship. Just as people are unique, so is each cat. She'll always have a special place in your heart.
My friend, I just woke up and raced to my PC. I wanted to read The Cat had rally'd. And she did-to become the newest angel in Heaven. My eyes teared to read your post and to look at The Cat's photo. It will be hard for awhile, yet remember all you two experienced and smile along with the tears. And tonight--when it's quiet, when you think you hear her--you are. And listen..listen..for you will also hear a familiar purr...

Our eyes are leaky and our hearts are sad. We're sorry Old Kitty had to leave for the Bridge.
Hello. I saw your comment on Brian's blog and came over. I am so sorry for the loss of your kitty. We lost our dog in November at the young age of 9. It was very sudden. On the day she collapsed was the day we had to put her to sleep. She had an aggressive cancer in her heart.
I know we don't know each other, but I am sure your kitty was well loved by you. 17 years and 8 months is a very respectable age. Our condolences to you.
WE are so sorry to hear about The Cat! No words from strangers will help, but we want you to know that we have been there and send you love and purrs.
So sorry to hear about this. 17 years is a long time. Our thoughts and purrs are with you. Take care. One day we will all meet again.
We heard about you from our friend Noir. We are sorry you have lost your friend.
We are so sorry that your sweet Kitty had to leave you. Sending you comforting thoughts and gentle purrs ...
Run free at the Bridge, Kitty ...

I am so sorry to read of Cat's passing. That last night must have been horrible for you. You did the best thing you could for her. I am sure that she is having a great time at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other kitties who have gone there.
We are so sorry to read of Cat's passing. We send you love and rumbly purrs to ease the sorrow. You gave her a wonderful and long life, which is a great and kind thing to have done. Memories of such a sweet old ladycat will make you smile again soon.

That's a lovely photo of your old cat. She was lucky to have an owner who cared for her so well for 17 years. Sorry she's gone.
I am so, so sorry. Thinking of you.
Take care.
Been home sick for a few days and missed your sad news. I am so sorry that Cat went to the Bridge. Wish you had more time with her. It is never easy to lose them. We are all sending loving healing energy your way and to little Cat in her new home. Hugs to you.
I'm so sorry for your loss: we have four lovely cats here, and I treasure each one. It does sound as though your old girl had an exceptionally happy and loving life, though, which is something to be proud of.
Oh Kitty, I am so sorry to hear you have lost your beautiful cat. You must be so sad and lonely at this moment. Thinking of you.
so, so sorry Kitty. Sounds like she had a great, long, loving life with you. Loss sucks.

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss, and I do so share in your grief having recently lost my beloved cat quite suddenly and before his time at 8 years old. He was black and white too, and I'm still finding the occasional beautiful white whisker lodged in an out-of-the-way-place. Sending love to you xx
We are sorry we didn't get to know The Cat. We offer our deepest purrs to you and we will keep you in our furry hearts. When you look to the heavens know that the sweet Cat will be looking down on your with guidance and love.
