The here and now

The day after and what is the first thing the Cat does?

She gets herself stuck between the wall and my bed.

How did I find this out?

She let out this godawful yowl – enough to wake up the dead and then some – at 5.30am this morning.

I find her little face squeezed in the gap her paw flaying in front of her in a bid to push her forward.

I pull the bed out. She wobbles out yowling.

And what does she do next?

She circles around the bed, a little unsteady on her feet, but onwards she goes, through the gap and out again.

I ask you. What am I supposed to make out of this behaviour? I’m like telling her to act incapacitated at least to make it easier for me, silly thing!

But you see that’s what’s so amazing about my tough ol girl. Lymphoma may have beaten her but by golly, she ain’t gonna take it lying down or make it easy for the Big L.

Or for me for that matter.

Why did she go through that gap? Because it was there.

:-)

Funny how cats like spaces that are just a bit too small. I wonder why. I'm glad that she's not feeling too bad to investigate!

Ahh, The Kitty is going to a place that's solitude. She's fighting, bless her purring right--yet, the small places make us kitties feel safe--even we feel good or feel bad. The Kitty will tell you what to do, trust me (And Tommy nods)--she will tell you...

Hugs, purss and LOVE from Texas..

Yes, cats do silly things just because they can. Little investigators!!

If she's still out and about, that's means she still wants to be around a bit longer.

I'm sorry you were up so early!

My cat used to go next the washing machine and have to be "saved" because it was too narrow and she didn't know how to back up.

Don't you just love those 5:30am wake up calls? My kitty likes to scratch on my door in the middle of the night for her Fancy Feast.

Lovely post. I can see a cat doing this. My cat seems to be getting into more situations as he gets older.

Kitty, thanks for reading my blog and commenting so often. I gave you an award...

I'm glad to hear Cat is feeling well enough to get around and check things out; she definitely has some spunk and fight in her!!...All you can do is take it day by day and hope for the best; she will let you know when it is too much for her...Good luck, blessings to you both.

What a strong girl. LOVE her! Jackie, Shadow and Flip are sending lots of purrs to her.

Aw, silly girl.

Everyone says you'll know the right time, so I suppose you will. (((Hugs))) for you and kitty kisses for Cat!

BTW, I don't remember the last time I slept in till 5:30AM! Usually the cats get me up at 4AM or before, sometimes I get to stay in bed till 4:30. LOL.

LOL - love your cat :-)

We're going to get a cat soon but we're waiting for the bypass round our village to be finished first :-)

Oh, I miss having a cat! I don't miss the early wake-up calls, though. Glad she's feeling well enough to be curious!

Hi Old Kitty! I've already commented on this post, but I wanted to let you know how much I love your comments! I just read your comment on my latest post, and I'm still smiling. Your comments are always so heartfelt, sincere, and encouraging. You're a fantastic blogging buddy!

She will continue to do whatever she pleases as long as she can, we're very independent that way. I agree with Noir, she will absolutely let you know. Oh yea, it is quite okay to tell her how you feel, she will appreciate that too.

Cats are psychotic. I sometimes think they were invented so we could feel smugly superior in our comparative sanity.

Well, it is good that she is still exploring - and Noir is right, kitties do like to be in small spaces to feel safe. Try to enjoy this time with her while you can. Maxdog's mom is going through something similar, and she is making the most of the time they have left - I find their posts to be quite inspiring and wonderful, you may want to stop by and visit them.

Thank you so much for your b-day wishes...it is great to be eight,

Cats do love to get into the strangest places. Mine get under the cover that covers the bottom of the mattress. I never knew they were doing it until I couldn't find one of them one day. Your kitty was probably just testing the space to see if she could get out of there.

Can't add much more than Noir said.
Enjoy each other!

And I thought they were supposed to use their whiskers to figure out if their whole body was small enough to fit somewhere - so much for that! :)

Do you think she was nesting or something...?

I am glad Cat has the where for all to get into this little predicament. Means she is up and about, and feels if she is up and about so should you!
Hope you are both doing well. A xx

Maximus Spittimus would like to let your Tough Ol' Girl know that she is a credit to cathood and cats of the world are very proud of her.

Small places is nice for kitties if they are a bit sicky.

They will tell you when small places is not enough.

They will.

Maximus promises.

Glad to see she has some life in her yet. Have you tried a homeopathic vet for her Big L? Sometimes they can treat this and put it in remission very gently!
