Conversation, Cake, Cuts and Charlie

Me to Daniel (the IT man): I password protected a document and now can’t remember the password. Please help me.

Daniel: Have you tried Google?

Me: Yes.

Daniel: How about downloading a freeware package that does this - there’s bound to be loads

Me: Yes and they end up as shareware asking for $29.99 to complete the process.

Daniel: Really?

Me: Yes.

Daniel: What’s this document anyway?

Me: My novel

Daniel: Have you tried Google?

Bless him, he said he’ll get back to me on this one!

In the meantime here is my Christmas cake turned Simnel cake for Easter (the round blobby bits represent the apostles two of whom I've eaten). I baked the main fruit cake in November 2009, drowned it in Drambuie once a week until last week and yesterday evening, added the marzipan and icing.

And here is Charlie asleep on my bed. The first time he as done so since he adopted me, 9 days ago :-)

I am still at 137 words of my Starting From Scratch Novel and I've decided to cut most of it out. Cos, I’ve just re-read it and have deemed most of it rubbish!

Time to start again.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Oh dear oh dear

me thinks you are wise to start over with the novel...if you password protect write it down in a safe place!

:-)

You have a great day too and it is so nice to see Charlie so comfy!

Marzipan? Marzipan?! Ahh, my ultimate favourite! Oh, how I wish I could have a bite of that cake! (Ritters dark chocolate covered marizipan is awfully good--my weakness every time I'm at the grocery store that carries the brand.)

As for the password issue, I hope Daniel's not going to come back to you and ask again if you've tried Google. LOL.

And Charlie--well, he looks like he's been with you for years, Old Kitty, not days. :-)

I love cakes with marzipan! Thanks for reminding me of them. At least I can look at the picture since Daniel Craig won't let me actually eat one. Good luck on the from-scratch writing project. (Make certain you aren't editing out anything you'll want back later.) Have a wonderful Monday! :)

Hope you could recall your password so that you don't have to re-write again...

Have a nice day...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you about the password.

Charlie is so gorgeous.

It often is possible to recover password-protected Office files but it partly depends on what version of Word you use. The protection is much better in later versions ...

That cake looks delicious!! I'm a huge fan of marzipan icing, fruit cake and apostles. So happy to get another pic of my--er-- your cat. And just keep writing those words, don't read them over yet! The first draft is always rubbish, but it's an essential step to get to the second draft, which is just a tad better, and then you get to the third draft which actually gives one hope, but none of it will happen if you don't force yourself to write that rubbish first draft!

Good luck and Happy Easter! Wish I could stop by and have a bit of delicious cake with you and pet Charlie for an hour.

Yay Charlie! Yay cake! I have to confess I'm not a massive fan of Christmas cake but yours looks delicious.

Love the pic of Charlie. And good luck with the password!

Marzipan is a weakness of our mum so if you see her about hide your cake. Charlie blends in so well on the bed it's only his tail that lets you know he's there.

Just can't beat a cake soaked in Liqueur, that's what I always say.

Charlie looks very comfortable and at home. I think he has decided to keep you.

Sure God help us...Daniel!

Cake - looks delicious. I'm with Ann - you can't beat a cake soaked in liqueur.

Charlie - looks snuggly. I'm glad he's made his way to your bed. Soon you'll be old friends.

Cuts - I feel like that's all I do these days. I add. I delete. I add more. Hope you find more that you like rather than rubbish.

And I hope you find the password and save the manuscript!

Since I live with an IT guy, well, I can sympathize a lot. And it is very obvious that Charlie is right at home with you already - that is so good! And that cake just looks very tasty too!

Don't hold that cake near any open flames :) Charlie looks right at home and I believe you will be able to recall the password or find a floppy disk drive.

I hope Daniel will figure it out for you soon. I am sure by now he knows you have tried Google :).

The cake looks soooooooooooo goooood! YUM!

Charlie is just soooo adorable! :) How sweet is that!

Good luck with your novel. xoxo
