You Pronker

Pronking: a zoological term meaning "leaping in the air with arched back and stiff legs". (Oxford Dictionary of English) like a kangaroo or an antelope or this kitty!

Another word for this is Stotting.

Aren't they great words? Thar Charlie goes, pronking and stotting (NOT)!

Speaking of pronking: I may be brave and try this competition that I found lingering on the lovely Theresa Milstein's blog.

Hmm. Charlie says us pronkers don't have time to go hmm. They just do!

Have a leaping Thursday everyone!

Pronking sounds more like a British swear word to me.

I couldn't get the first link to open, but the second one did. I say go for it! There is a word to describe what Charlie is doing...it's called NORMAL!

Hey, I met a nice writer visitor on my blog today, Sharon from Random Thoughts. She has a nice blog and mentioned you.

I think I just found a new word to love. Pronking! It sounds slightly dirty and lots of fun, plus it's so darn cute when cats do it.

Thanks for the new vocabulary.

Pronking and stotting? I don't think my cat, Shaggy does much pronking or stotting either.

Guide to Literary Agents is down. And on my blog, other people's comments aren't showing up after yours, so I haven't replied properly. Sorry!

"Pronking" and "stotting" are words I'd never heard of. They're fabulous! Now, if only I would remember them. :-)

Have a lovely day. Kitty kisses to Charlie!

Fantastic words! They do sound smutty though, but maybe that's just my own pervy brain at work!

Lucy is a big pronker!! She does this quite often and I didn't know there was a word for it until today. I have never seen Hannah pronking or stotting although she does strut if that counts!!
We think you should have a go in that competition - we always wanted to know someone famous.

Good luck with the contest -- we have full faith in your writing (which is terrific!).

Charlie I don't do much pronking either. Momma startled me the other day and she saw me do a small pronk. Being nearly 11 (in only about 6 weeks) I am more prone to do what you do...*kitty giggle*

Hmmm... pronking needs a lot of energy!

I am sure Charlie has evaluated the energy requirement and have decided to remove the "leap" from pronking! Thus, the horizontally pronking position!

Thank you! Now I know what to yell next time my kitty does that.

Charlie seems far too busy for all that pronking and stotting!

Good luck with the competition! :)

How did they make that kitty do that? It looks very unnatural for a cat. Charlie, on the other hand, looks completely relaxed!

Would love to pronk and stot, Charlie but without paws, shortened legs and splayed feet, it's a tad difficult to but we try. :)
