Writer's Block - literally

So here I am re-writing my first three chapters for my course - deadline 29 May.

And what happens?

I encounter that bugbear of writers the world over. The Writer's Block. Here is mine.

An hour later and the words just refuse to be typed. Why?

I take the hint and go to bed.

:-)

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!

Too cute!!!
I can't type sitting on the couch because my dog Romeo thinks that his invitation to squeeze between my chest and the computer, plopping down directly on the keyboard.

Good luck with the rewrites!

Charlie - get out of mom's way, she needs to write! As far as writer's blocks go, yours is the most adorable I've seen. :)

Cats can't resist a keyboard! Mine sometimes gets quite offended that I would pay so much attention to anything non-feline and feels the need to sit on my keyboard until my inspiration goes away. :p

What a delightful hint!

A good night and you'll be ready to for re-writes.

I love your delightful posts!!

Your muse is acting quite unmuseish. Is that a word?

Perhaps your cat just knows you need rest and will have a breakthrough tomorrow.

Deadlines are scary. All of my writing is on my time, except for rare instances when I submit something for a conference or critique.

I know you can do it. Good luck!

Don't worry Charlie. It is still a long way to deadline.
When panic set in at almost deadline with adrenaline working overtime, words will start flowing and you will be pounding the keyboard non-stop. LOL! Sorry to laugh at your predicament but am reminiscing about my colleagues in the same situation those days.

When the writer's block is so comfortable ~ one must not move it! So what choice is there but to give it up for the day and go to bed! :)

Awww! I love your kitty! I'm that way too. When Kitty decides to plop herself down, those are moments I don't want to disturb so I leave her be.

Silly cat...

What is it about cats and computers?? Do they like the humming? Maybe Charlie thinks the computer is purring to him. I think he's in love.

Great pictures! My dog comes and lays over my lap top when I'm in the middle of writing (she's only little!) - It's as though she's saying 'stop giving that *thing* more attention than me!' X

That looks like a nice kind of Writers Block. Just can't be helped. Maybe Charlie needs his own computer to work on.
Hope you have a super day.
PS, Charlie, you sure are looking good.

I'm thinking the reason you can't type is because Charlie wants to write his story...Maybe let him tell you a story and it will get your creative juices flowing. :) I have a file of Macy's thoughts and reactions for the first year of her life. One day I'll do something with it. I also have some of Susan's dog's adventures written down. Her dog did WAY funnier things than Macy. The cutest thing Macy used to do was picking up trash when we would go for a walk. She'd pick it up and bring it almost home (I'd carry it the rest of the way). I'm sure Charlie has a story to tell...

seems charlie rules that roost ;) lol

little kenny can't jump up on me, except when i'm in bed, so can't use him as an excuse not to write... something!

I hope words flow again soon. I don't think having a cat is good for productivity - I'd always rather be cuddling one than doing or thinking about anything else! xx

My cats jump on my hands and keyboard while I'm typing, and that freaks me out. If they're already on my keyboard, I use a feather duster to scare them off. I must get to my keyboard and write.
