Brain wave

As my nose is stuffed and I am a little light headed, I thought I'd pass on a game to mess with your minds, my lovely bloggie friends!

This grid and the text quoted below are from Grand Illusions

"Just count the little black balls...
There are different names for this illusion, but the Scintillation Grid is probably the proper name. This illusion was found by Elke Lingelbach of the Institut fur Augenoptik Aalen in Germany, and is a modification of an illusion called the Hermann Grid, which dates from 1870!"

I apologise now if you emerge cross-eyed as I have from staring at this grid!

But isn't this amazing?!?! I thought so.

And this is for the lovely fairyhedgehog. She advertised a competition run by Disgruntled Bear. All I had to do was comment on Disgruntled Bear's blog and I was given a lovely t-shirt promoting her self-published book "Minder" on the condition that I wear it somewhere crazy.

This was't the pic I sent - it was a trial run!

Charlie says: OI! Gerroff my segment of your blog!

Have a "phew wot a scorcher!" Monday everyone.

I love optical illusions and the idea that my brain can be tricked.

I like the shirt...I think, but I'm still looking cross-eyed here! That was a way cool optical delusion!

Hope you feel better quick! I'm being plagued with really bad allergies right now after going to an outdoor graduation in a pollen filled football field Friday evening. I hoped getting back to Tulsa, and my air conditioned home, would bring relief but for the moment that's not happening! Oh well ... hopefully I will awaken clear headed tomorrow.

I didn't stare at the thing too long. The black balls kept moving and making me dizzy.

Whoa...that was twisted. What a crazy grid.

Finally a picture of you.... almost.

That picture of the balls was freaky.

Feel better! I hope the cold is gone by tomorrow.

Cool illusion, but I'm still seeing black dots!

Fun tee shirt! Are you going to post a picture of you wearing it?

Charlie... ohh... where are you Charlie???

Definitely "crossed-eyed" by now, hopefully it is temporary!!!!!!

Lucky got his sutures removed today! Yay! But there's a spot still healing (i.e., not "dried") so, he is still wearing his oh-so-macho collar!

Thanks, Kitty! It's a great picture but it would be even better with your face in it!

That grid is really odd the way it messes with your eyes.

Oh sure, count the black circles. Now we are all going to be cross eyed.
Like the picture of the T shirt. That is one way to wear it. Hope you feel better.
Have a super week.

That's a great optical illusion. I suppose we're used to the idea that our eyes tell us what is really there and then when they don't it's amusing and/or disconcerting.

Like the T shirt - think you're supposed to put it on not hide behind it - haha!! The grid is excellent but sending me cross eyed.
Hello Charlie - don't go staring at that grid.

I'm cross-eyed enough! How unkind to torment us with such a grid, and right before I go off to get some Pimms, too.

Hi to Charlie! :)

How I would love to fly over to the United Kingdom and meet you and Charlie. Jen too. We'd put a propeller on her wheelchair, I hang on, and we fly!

That is one crazy grid. There must be some great analogy here to the black spots: you stare and they disappear. Translated to life: you stare and the BAD things disappear.

(I didn't stare at the grid very long!)

That optical illusion is a bit freaky but brilliant, love the t-shirt !

I couldn't stare at it for too long, I'll get dizzy and head-achy--it's crazy cool though!

Thanks for sharing! :)

Everytime I blink I now see black dots. Do you think it will ever go away? I have always like illusions.
