Twas a poem and yes you can!

Did y’all see the big new moon?
Twas on Saturday evening not at noon!
Twas very bright and very round!
Twas high up in the skies not making a sound!

Charlie says: I have booger in my eye.

Bloggie friends – thanks to lovely Summer Ross, Womagwriter and Eliza for publicising a great opportunity to donate stories, flash, poems, photos etc towards a new e-book “New Sun Rising" - all proceeds to go to a chosen charity to assist with the earthquake relief for Japan.

If y’all interested, here is the link and all the info about this project. Go on write story, take a pic, and/or compose a poem! You know you want to!

I am deep into composing some (hopefully not so terrible) haikus for submission. So I may be scarce this week cos these little nuggets of poetry are so damned hard to get right! No rhyming!! Aaaargh!

Kittie,
lovely poem...and poor Charlie, I hate when Angel Kitty gets boogers in her eyes and won't let me get it out...
thanks for the link for the e-book; I'll check it out!

Old Kitty, good for you. I just know you'll get it right.

And Charlie? How'd you get something in your eye?

Thanks for your input at Kittens 'n Things about your little kitty who'd dig and dig in the box.

To answer your poem. Me thinks you know that I saw that there big ol' 'supermoon' and that howling Penny dawg, howled a little bit louder, y'all :-)
I shall go and check that link.
And Charlie, Penny wonders if you ever write your own blogs? She reckons you and her would make quite the writing team :)
Take care eh,
Gary x

I love haiku. I've written quite a few. Yes, they do take time--they have to be so exact. I'm excited to see what you come up with!!

I looked for the moon but coudn't find it. Cloud cover. And then I got too lazy to return outside later.

Looks like you got inspired by your sighting!

I've been hearing about this moon everywhere, seeing pictures of it and all that. Not sure where I was because I don't remember a thing!

Very cool - I'm going to check out the anthology.

And I did get out to see the moon - I was proud of myself because usually I plan to do stuff like that and forget until the next day! lol

Good luck with the haikus. I hope the e-book raises lots of money for aid to Japan.

The most incredible full moon I can remember seeing was back when I still lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I can remember driving along the Bedford Basin and watching it, HUGE and yellow, hanging over the horizon/water. It was incredible. It might have been a super moon then too, as it easily was 18 or 20 years ago.

Yes I did see that big old moon, he was a little misty last night. I think today is the day the Write Hope writers' auction for Japan starts too, at Http://rachaelharrie.blogspot.com.

I love haikus! (reading them, that is, NOT writing them) :)

I love the Moon poem. We were planning to photograph it. The previous evening it was spectacular, but on the full moon evening it was cloudy, and has been since. Neaaarrrgh! No photo. Still, lots of people have taken great photos. Love 'em.

Great to see you supporting the appeals. We all want to do our bit.

Saw the moon
But not very much
To us down here it looked like slush

Too many clouds
Not enough beams
Give me a clear night
With lots of lots of moony dreams.

My snores don't rhyme so I wouldn't worry that much...
hiya Charlie .
lots of luv Amie Soto Blossom :-)x x x

I find haiku terribly hard to write but so lovely to read. I'm sure you will write some wonderful ones, Jen.

I went out to take photos of the super moon but there is too much street light in my neighborhood at night and my photos were blurry. Guess I'll have to wait 23 more years for the next photo op! :)
