Hope in time of crises

Bloggie friends!

This is why I put up the chip-in thingy on the sidebar of my blog. This clip is quite distressing but has a hopeful ending. I hope you don't mind me sharing it here if you haven't seen it already.

Two dogs are found after the tsunami. You could hear the distress in the reporter's and cameraman's voices. These dogs are now in a rescue shelter, thanks to the immense humanity shown by all.

The full report, including translation of what was said is found here.

Today is also Comic Relief/Red Nose Day - an annual day of fundraising for charities world wide. To learn more about this day, please click here.

Charlie does his bit!

Have a loving and peaceful weekend everyone!

I'm so glad there's a happy ending there, but the plight of Japan makes me so sad. The loss of innocent life, both human and animal, and the ongoing toll is just staggering. Thanks for posting.

Oh, I don't think I can bear to watch that video, not at 4:40AM anyway!

It's fabulous to see so many bloggers adding the chip-in -- and even better to see the total increasing significantly.

Comic Relief sounds good...We all could use a bit of laughter in our lives right now, I think. Thanks!

Have a great day and weekend, both of you!

This video was sent to me yesterday in an email and all I could think was "Stop talking and do something" it was obvious the mobile dog was trying to show them his friend, he approached them and walked toward the other dog and barked. Then I got to the end where it told they had both been rescued! What a relief!
Loyalty we humans could take a lesson from.

I got teary just from the transcript. I knew I couldn't watch the video. The earthquake, to the tsunami, to the nuclear crisis... so disheartening. My thoughts are with them.

Forgot all about rednose day!

Have a good weekend!:)

We were concerned when we first saw the video but then we learned the one dog is in a shelter and the injured one is at a vet clinic. And today we learned Japan will not put the "stray" dogs down in 3 days during a disaster now, so the dogs will have a chance to be reunited or adopted. We hope they will be okay.
