Missed Opportunities

I did have this gorgeous moment when Charlie was sitting right next to the strawberry pot plant looking as if he was about to munch on the fruit.

Unfortunately the batteries in my camera were flat.

So by the time I recharged them, the strawberries were still there…

… but Charlie had gone off to be adopted next door!

I could equate this little episode with how it's useful to always be prepared for the unexpected in case a once in a lifetime opportunity arises - but heck it's Monday and the Summer Solstice is upon us.

Have Druid filled Monday everyone!

Yes! We've just celebrated the shortest day over here. I didn't see many druids about, but there's a feeling in the air like everyone's breathed a sigh of relief!

Like the new blog look very much btw, hope I'm not too far behind everyone else in noticing it!

That would have been a precious picture.

Many cats seem to love being adopted by neighbors.

It's awful when the batteries run out (or go flat, as you say). It happened to me on our recent vacation, but luckily we had a second camera. Then it happened when were at my son's play. And at the Red Sox game the other night, just I was trying to snap a picture of the dancing man in front of us!

Apparently, I've been using my camera a lot these days.

Lovely strawberries. I'm glad Charlie didn't eat them. Enjoy the fruit when they ripen.

I wish our batteries in our camera would wear out, that darn thing is always there. Hey Charlie, tell the neighbors we said hello!

Hello Jenn! and Charlie!

Looks like Charlie is going over for a cuppa tea and scones!!! And perhaps strawberries and creams with a little bit of nip sprinkles!

He looks so natural in that picture, like he was about to ring the bell!!

Well Jenn and Charlie dear, have a good Monday!!!!

You can never be prepared for everything, so sometimes I just chalk that missed opportunity up to fate...Charlie loves you too much to ever leave you=we know he's a friendly sweetheart and just went next door for a quick visit!...Happy week and Summer Solstice sweet friends...kisses x3...Calle, Halle, Sukki

That made me laugh, especially the bit about being adopted!

Hahahaha.... I'm sure Charlie's planning on 'recharging his batteries' and not getting adopted...

Have a good Monday, at least as good as a Monday can get :)

Blasted battery....we hear our mama say that quite often. We tell her if she would learn to charge it up periodically she wouldn't end up with a dead one!!!!!!!

Did ya meet anyone interesting Charlie??????? xxxxxxxxxx

My cat would have wrestled every one of those tempting berries off that plant! Happy Summer Solstice to you, too!

Why do cat's always try to get adopted elsewhere? Happy Summer Solstice! The weather in france stinks. You'd think it'd be nicer on the first day of summer!

Oh dear, Charlie, you had better come home. Those strawberries are going to be good, just be ready to race the birds to getting them.
All right Charlie, it is time to report back home now.

My camera never seems to be charged when I need it to be. So, I've come to depend on taking photos with my cell phone. :)

LOL! If I were Charlie I'd wait for the strawberries to ripen a bit more before snacking! :)

Happy Summer Solstice to you and Charlie!

You will enjoy those strawberries when they come ripe, but I don't think Cahrlie will ;-)

Wow, that would be cool to meet a Druid! Anyway it's too bad he didn't munch on one of those berries as they don't look quite ripe. I imagine the look on his face would have been rather adorable.

I hope the neighbours are cat people too.... or rather cat people who respect boundaries :) If it gets to the point of them starting to feed him you may have to swoop over and have a word!

That's cute--Charlie went next door! Gotta love how cats just do what they want when they want!

Hooray for the Solstice. And I hope Charlie came to his senses and went back home. No one could love him more than you.

Now I'm off to stave my craving for strawberries... can't imagine where that came from... :o)

Lost opportunity . . . but there ARE those strawberries. And Charlie DID go off on his own little adventure. A good Summer Solstice for some, maybe. Here in No. Virginia USA it's so hot and humid. Would love to chase some druids through a green, shady forest!!

LOL! I never have my camera out in a timely fashion either.

But Charlie does look lovely in that second photo, even if he seems to be a bit miffed that you missed the earlier shot!
