Mary, Mary quite contrary

I've discovered the secret to making a good Bloody Mary. Well there really are two!

And ok maybe they're not secrets but I'm a novice at this and I don't have a drinks shaker or any fancy gadgets!

Here are the secrets:

1) A squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
2) Adding the ingredients in exactly the following method:

Get a tall glass, shake lots of tobasco drops in it, squeeze a small bit of lemon in, pour ice cold tomato juice, pour ice cold vodka, salt and pepper, stir. Celery stick optional.

And this is the result:

Absolutely bloody marvellous! Pardon my French!

And a great drink on a hot day. A great drink after a very stressful hot day. It is surprisingly refreshing and suddenly the world is a better place.

Charlie says: What an alky, I'm definitely off next door!

Have a lemony Friday everyone!

Suddenly I'm quite thirsty. I'll take one, too, please.

I'm very sorry you had a stressful day, though! Monday was my insane, emotional meltdown day, so you have my sympathies.

I love a can of V8 and have a great (if I do say so myself) gazpacho recipe with V8. But I don't like Bloody Mary drinks.

When it's hot, I like a Mojito or a Cosmo.

I like Charlie in a blur. You're very clever with your pictures. My cat is less judgmental about my drinking than yours!

Stay cool.

I don't know why Mary would be contrary after a few of those! Wait Charlie, Mary brought some nip too!

Our Mommy adores Bloody Mary's, especially if she's drinking before 5 pm; they are also wonderful with weekend brunch and go really well with eggs benedict!!...Happy Friday sweet friends...kisses and hugs to handsome, floofy Charlie...Calle, Halle, Sukki

And one of the FEW drinks you can get away with for breakfast! teehee (that and a mimosa) I love a good bloody mary, and definitely suggest including a cocktail onion and a couple of green olives--the veggies are part of the joy.

And I will go along with spicy V8 as a substitute for all the work... in a pinch, I mean *wink*

Charlie are you running to see your friend so quickly you were just a blur in front of my eyes.

use clamato [clam/tomato juice] with some celery seed, and you have a bloody caesar... yum, too!

I love bloody Mary's-do you have spicy clamato juice-it is very Canadian-and we call it a bloody Ceaser.

Yumm

Okay I know I deserved more than 1/2 muffin-but I also had about 10 Lindt chocolates in the afternoon.

oooohhhh. What rotten luck I'm at work. Oh well, cocktail time soon enough! I'm partial to rum drinks but a good Bloody Mary is hard to beat.

Excellant idea! As if I needed an excuse on this warm friday evening! Have a great weekend!

Charlie's so funny! 1 drink doesn't make you an alkie.

Fresh lemon is good w/ just about any beverage & as I only drink tea & water you can probably see why I need a fresh lemon & no other kind.

Come back soon, Charlie!

Would you believe I've never had a bloody Mary? Must put it on my to-do list! I don't think I'll like it though - all that tabasco and tomato... x

That actually sounds quite good, I am usually more of a wino. My parents used to make Bloody Mary's with V8.
