Clever bloggie friends, you've rescued me again!
Thank you Abby of Manx Mnews and Amy of the House of Cats for pointing out that the B to the left of my blog homepage is also "dashboard". I have never even noticed that B to the left, let alone clicked on it!
I'll be sure to have a big choccie muffin in both your honours! :-)
Apologies to Blogger for thinking they were trying to control me against my will. Next time I shall just have a nice cup of tea if I think such things again!
Isn't the blog an amazing community?
Speaking of which (notice the not so smooth segueway there! LOL!), I found this fab site The Global Language Monitor. It tracks the amazing way language (they concentrate mainly on the English language) continues to evolve.
Blog was added to the official Oxford English and Oxford American Dictionaries in 2005.
In 2009 the top word in the English language was Twitter.
Language is definitely very much alive and kicking!
I find super duper evidence of this in all your fab blogs from the use of "nipfests" - catnip indulgence to "wips" - works in progress.
Charlie says: I'm off to find some nip while you work on your wip.
Have wordfest Sunday everyone!

Hey, I never knew what that B was for either. Yep, the human language is evolving fur sure, I can hardly keep up some days! Howdy Charlie!
I love that: Charlie's off to have some nip while you work on your wip. Too cute!
When I had trouble getting line breaks into my posts, I was so thankful to all the bloggers who helped me by pointing out I just had to edit the html. Such a wonderful community we've got!
I agree this is an amazing community!
Finding friends from everywhere!
Such fun!
That site looks cool. Definitely should go check it out :D
Oh, and have I mentioned that Charlie is my boyfriend??? You're just taking care of him until I go get him, right??
How is your WIP? I hope it's coming along.
I love hearing how language evolves. There are the purists, but if they had their say, we'd all speak like they did in Beowulf. Imagine?
Weblog sounds nicer than blog, but blog is quicker. We shorten everything these days.
I had no idea about the little "B" either! I guess during the days I could not get on line with any blogs they (the blog wizards) were making all sorts of upgrades. Mine has a spell check on the post section now...I was typing it in word, doing a spell check then cutting and pasting over into the blog post section...
Have a lovely Sunday!
LOL! I remember when it was a big deal that email and internet were added to the dictionary.
Have a happy Sunday as well--I'm off to visit my wip. :o)
hello kitty! here is a nice acronym for us today - K.I.S.S.
which stands for "keep it simple, sweetie..." words are such wonderful things.
MOL!!...Funny post!...And, I must say, Jenn, I never knew or even noticed the B on my homepage either=thanks for passing that shortcut on, I really appreciate it!...Hope handsome Charlie finds some nip!...Happy Sunday friends...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Okay, I didn't know what "wip" was. I only recently found out what "PTU" and "THoE" were. (Thought "PTU" might be "personal transport unit," but it's "prisoner....") And of course "THoE" is Thundering Herd of Elephants.
The CB needs a dictionary!
As for the "B" in Blogger, I've been clicking on it to get back back to the Dashboard, without even thinking about it. LOL.
That's a great view of Charlie's pantaloons, by the way. Ha. Love his markings. :-)
I had no idea of the little 'B' either! I rarely look at that side as I am so scared I will somehow click on the wrong button and report my own blog!
I dare not give my cats catnip. I bought them a catnip mouse a few weeks ago as a treat for going to the nasty v.e.t and they managed to pull it completely apart in under a minute, lost all sense of reason in their eyes, and kept rolling around in the patch of herbs that mouse had leaked so much so I was fearful for their health and decided to hoover it all up! Even now, hoovered etc, the Ginger Whinger still pauses on that patch of carpet and goes all bonkers.
Hm. Maybe I should get them another?!
Thanks for that!
Never knew about the B, was not happy to see dashboard gone and replaced with Design! If they'd just added the Design button ALONG SIDE the dashboard! But my initial reaction was
A. wheres my dashboard!!!
B. They can feck off with their "Design", no ones telling me what to do!
Thanks for the info & goodluck with your WIP!
Charlie's got a very fluffy butt! :)
Interesting that Twitter was the top word in 2009.
Good luck with your writing today and I hope you're having a fab weekend!
I didnt know that either.. Thanks for that tip.. I am also having problems and hope my mum can sort them out.. Love that fluffy bum picture. Take care love GJ xx
That is amazing that Twitter is now a real word. That is all good stuff. All these words and we have to figure out what they mean. The only word we know is 'meow' in different tones for the different things that we need right now.
Have a great day
Oh Hi Charlie, Good shot of your floofy buns.
We think nip sniffing and rolling is a much better occupation than wip.
Charlie,
You have a fab human, so here's another word for her: "Loons"--short for "Pantaloons", which you, Charlie, have an amazing pair of.
(Did Mommy split an infinitive somewhere...drat!)
So our language has had a million words in for a year!
Although how many were made up by pointless management consultants? :)
Well thank you so much for sharing that - I was similarly confused about the disappearance of my dashboard link and had never noticed that B either! xx
Love how the blogging community works! I have a feeling Charlie will be back....
Thanks for telling me about the 'B', was news to me! Haha. Dashboard is soo confusing!
Talking of nip, they go crazy for it don't they? I wondered what all the fuss was about, but got some for my two at christmas, wow talk about hyperactive, super cuddly and super energetic!
Nippageness behaviour! I keep it to a minimum from now on.
O.K.,
Glad you got the blog stuff figured out. Hope you enjoyed your choccie muffin! :)
Huummmppphh, I didn't know we only had just over 1 million words in the English language! I thought it was a lot more, or less, going by the number of words that get repeated over & over & over again. LOL!
Thanks for those links. & hugs to Charlie. :)
I never knew what that "B" was either --thanks for the information!
I also heard that "Twitter" was number one new word last year ...isn't that amazing when you think about it? This is surely the social media age.
Charlie is handsome from any angle..lol!
Glad I could help!
:-)
