Look at it:
When I bought it in 2008 it was a tiny clump of UPRIGHT feathery green shoots.
For a year it slumbered in this big pot. This spring it's exploded.
But it has exploded into this mad swirly whirly creature.
I just hope it's ok.
At least it's flowered. But why has it gone bonkers???
Charlie says: Well don't look at me! If it ain't nip, I'm not interested.
Have a flowery Friday, everyone!

I think the flowers are quite pretty realy. No matter they are spread around.. Hugs GJ x
But isn't "nature" so interesting - and unpredictable. Like life. Like people. I just love your post each day. I look for it, and Charlie's droll wit!!
Boy oh boy, can't help you there, a green paw I do not have...but Charlies and I both like a good nip!
It is interesting! But we agrees with Charlie!
hi & hello,
thx for visiting my blog :)
p/s: somehow d flower looks pretty to me
It's beautiful though in it's own wild way!
Sorry, don't have any plant advice for you, but at least it produced "wild" flowers...Happy Friday sweet friends...kisses x3, handsome Charlie...Calle, Halle, Sukki
That is very strange. We've had Dianthus in our front bed for years, I've not seen anything like that before!
Have a great Friday you two!
too much something ;) lol
I am the last person to give advice on plants, since I kill them. I don't mean to - it just happens. There are flowers, which is a good sign to someone who kills plants.
Charlie looks regal in this photo.
Charlie's really not interested is he? Ha ha! Have a good weekend! x
Mmm, reminds me of the genius Einstein's unruly hair. :)
It's one of a kind!

please spread the word
Oooh I think they are lovely! I missed you are Charlie while I was away, so glad to be back and see what you are both up to!
Winston x
I don't know what it's really supposed to look like, but it seems to be growing like, well, a weed. LOL. In other words, doing extremely well! Just get some metal or plastic trellises for it, to prop it up. (The very small ones, we can get them here in our various dollar stores.)
Happy Friday and big smooches to Charlie!
I kinda like the flowers... even though going near them will probably give me rashes :). I'm terribly allergic...
I am thus appreciating them from far far away :)
I think it looks fine, be grateful it is flowering and very pretty.
We agree, Charlie...if it ain't nip, it's not worth a look!!
I'm afraid I'm rubbish at gardening, dig a hole, plant something, drown it, hope for the best is my technique. Needless to say my garden is full of weeds, but I do love the buttercups so that's ok.
Your crazy plant is still lovely, it's not bothering Charlie at all I see!
Time for a bigger pot!
I think it may need you need transplanted into a larger flower pot next year, Old Kitty! Perennial flowers keep propagating and spreading and when confined to a flower pot they get root bound. You could also separate the roots when they dies back and keep some in this pot and add the other half to a new pot.
So Charlie like cat nip! So does mine. Not all cats do.
Those flowers are just getting very long and low. They are still pretty even if they are crawling all over the place. I have some of the same plants and they have never done that. You have invented a new plant.
Charlie where are you off to??
Hope you have a great week end.
Is it reflecting the personality of the grower? Yes, we think so!
Charlie, keep a close eye on your Mom...she might be skirting the edge...just sayin'.
One lovely thing about plants is that giving them a good trim only increases their beauty. They are really beautiful.
Hi Charlie.

We like the wild look...our yard looks like the dianthus! A bigger pot may make it last even longer.
cats of wildcat woods
I wonder if it's something to do with the different springtime weather ths year...?
But then I like Theresa am an inveterate plant killer.
I think it's lovely. I was in the garden center myself earlier, there is something so tranquil about all those flowers. Lots of planting to be done tomor. Have a great weekend x
My guess is that it's root bound. It needs a deeper pot so it's crown can be underground. x
You know, I think you should just give the flowers up for a loss, and replace them with a nice pot of catnip or cat grass for Charlie!
I planted catnip for my kitties, but they ate it all before it could grow higher than shoots. I guess the cats like sprouts, at least of a particular variety!
I think it's very pretty, it's just a bit of a free spirit. :)
It's very pretty. But maybe it needs a bigger pot?
I love Charlie's look of supreme indifference!
I haven't really got an idea on why it's grown like that, but I think that it's absolutely beautiful.
