Letting go

Bloggie friends, if I told you that I thought the essence of Toy Story 3 was about letting go and moving on no matter how painful would you believe me?

And not just letting go and moving on but doing so knowing in your heart of hearts that it’s the right thing to do – that yes you will grieve and you will mourn what has passed and what you’ve said goodbye to - but that in time things will fall into place and you will learn to love and live again?

And if I tell you that sobbing while wearing 3D glasses do not work, would you also believe me?

:-)

I hope so!

Charlie says: I had my own film to watch. The beginning was alright but then it was downhill all the way!

Have a fry-up Friday everyone!

Saw it last night myself, although only in 2D. I think you've got it about right. Although obviously there should also be exciting car chases and that along the way ...

I believe you!

This is SO beautifully written.

Jen and I send our love. Have a wonderful Friday!

I totally don't know what you're talking about. Crying after watching Toy Story 3??? Nope. Didn't do that.

...

Anyway, nice post! I think the toughest to do in life is letting go. But the payout is certainly worth it.

And... okay... I bawled like a little kid... Don't tell anyone.

The essence of Toy Story, as seen through your wise eyes, is bittersweet and touching with deep meaning and a very tough life lesson...I appreciate your insight and understanding of such complex feelings derived from this film and I believe this kind of inner wisdom is what makes you a wonderful writer, Jenn...And sweet, gorgeous, floofy Charlie is too precious for words!...Happy Friday beautiful friends...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki

I believe you.
Me and my daughter of seven years old cried with 3d glasses .... and was not very successful.
But the movie has a beautiful message even.
Good Friday to you too.

Now I will HAVE to rent it on DVD. And stock up on tissues, too.

Or blow my nose on cat fur.

I would totally believe you that the film is about that - and that is why I know I have to watch it at home. I always see the story behind the story and get weepy - of course I believe I also shed a bit of a tear at one point during the Simpsons movie so you know, I am a weepy fool.

I don't think I can bear to watch it!

Lovely picture of Charlie, as always.

I've not watched Toy Story but from your short write-up, it sounds like it is worth watching and staining the 3D glass...

I love what you have written, it is simple but meaningful.

Lots of love to ya and Charlie ...
and Charlie dear, I looooooove your bushy, looooonnngg tail! Getting ready for winter????

Beautifully written post, Jennifer.

I don't like crying at movies. I like feel-good, happy endings, because life just isn't like that. But heck, I cry at the drop of a hat. While watching touching TV commercials, the news, reading something....Can't seem to help it.

Big smooches to Charlie; the fur crew prefer *his* kitty movie!

Toy Story 3 was a great story, but definitely left me feeling sad. I guess we can't hang on to those old toys forever. :)

Have a great Friday!

Hope you were wearing waterproof mascara Jenn!! Glad you enjoyed the film.
Charlie until we saw that picture today we had no idea your tail was as floofy as that - it is lovely.

Hey Charlie, did anyone tell you that your rear and tail are cute! :)

Oh! You should have seen me when the mom is saying goodbye to the son as he sets off for college! I must face that scene next year, so I was a mess. I am surprised someone did not call the emotional paramedics.

Mama says she definitely wants to see Toy Story 3.....as she has just spent the past 3 years of the letting go and moving on thing.

Hey, Charlie, wonderful picture!!!! You are one handsome dude!!!!!!

I haven't seen the movie, but I love that idea--it is so true... letting go is such a HUGE relief when it is finally done... not that I ever let go... I am a hoarder--of things and people, but sometimes when it is time, it is time.

Glad youy 'enjoyed' Toy Story 3. I've heard so many good things about this I might have to actually watch it.

Happy weekend, Charlie and Old Kitty! :)

I think I might be the only person in the world (or just blogger-world) with such an opinion but I've never liked Toy Story at all. What's wrong with me haha.

(No, I think it's because I have a sister who's 10 years younger than me and when she was a kid there were cartoons and such all the time in TV and Toy Story 1 was a huge success as far as my sis goes, so I think I just overdosed it haha)

Jen says thanks for the big HI and she sends a big HI back!

I was so happy to see your wonderful GREEN icon just now on my post for today. And thanks for the big pat on the back. The revisions are going so well. And I'm having fun switching from the revisions to blogs back to revision today.

And I hope you're having a winning day today also. Wish we could fly across the ocean and see you!

Will wait for it to come to DVD but did love the other ones! Didn't realize some folks would not know what zydeco music was so look it up here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zydeco.

I have heard so many people say the same thing - apparently it is a real tear-jerker! I really want to see it now. Take care x

You know, that movie made me CRY. I especially felt so awful for the baby. I wanted to reach into the screen and hold him and tell him I would love him. I know, I'm funny.

At first I thought you were going to say good bye to blogland and I was going to start a revolt. (Life would be so different without Charlie, you know!!)

*Hugs*
:)

Yes, of course I'd believe you. I've never worn 3-D glasses before so I trust your opinion.

Charlie looks so thoughtful in that picture.

I cry in all sad movies so I would've been sobbing right along with you.

Sounds like a profound message. So this means you're giving it a good review then?

I should take my daughter to see it. She got pretty overwhelmed by Avatar on DVD last week, so I have to make sure it's not too heavy. She's a sensitive girl. LIke us.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jennifer that was such a lovely summation. You truly have a way with the English language.

Change is hard.
Letting go and going towards the unknown is hard.
We feel comfort in what we know
and love.
That said.
Life is nothing but change.

What a paradox.

Abby says:
Charlie I hate change.
Don't change
Let's always stay the same.
