Karaoke

"She saw a perfect reflection of herself in Paris Hilton’s latest paparazzi pic.
The face in her compact mirror screamed Katy Perry though. Happy, she ordered
the soul food special and tucked in. "

The End

Today's 33 word story includes these three words mirror, reflection, soul. Thanks to the lovely Ellie!

Karaoke. Discuss.
:-)

Karaoke is not really my cup of tea but it was rolled out as a "treat" by my managers at the end of our tortuous Staff Away Day Let's Talk Strategies and Projections So We Can All Keep our Jobs time yesteday.

My throat at the moment is hurting badly from belting out such classics as "Enough is Enough" by the divine Ms Streisand and glorious Ms Summer and "Nine to Five" by the irrepressible Ms Parton

Charlie says: I hope your work colleagues had ear plugs. Pfhtphfphhhtpppt!

Have a singalong Wednesday everyone!

My boss wouldn't dare roll that out as a treat! I HOPE! Though some of the nuts I work with would have fun with it!

Another clever 33 word story!

Oh my,lol, I think this is my favorite Charlie photo of all! He does look like he is laughing!

I do not do Karaoke..that would not be pretty. I was not blessed with a singing voice.

LOL, he makes hilarious faces. I don't do karaoke in public, but I love to sing for Rock Band! :D

A fun and very original short story=I really love reading them all, you are very talented!...I have never sung Karaoke because I can't carry a tune; I have kind of a deep, raspy voice for a girl!...Thank you for the kind comment on my blog today, Jenn; your sweet, generous nature is a gift to us all and I am so lucky to have your friendship...Take care and kisses to handsome Charlie...xo...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki

Another creative micro-story! I have no idea how your brain can actually come up with these every week. Terrific!

As for the karaoke...You had to participate in karaoke? Are you serious? I think we'd all lynch our boss...not that he ever would suggest such a thing. I do NOT envy you. LOL.

I'm sorry you had to endure karaoke. I hope it was a little fun. I've never attempted it, and think I'd be a shaking mess.

Paris Hilton, Katy Petty, and soul in the same piece. You're a genius!

Loved your story and karaoke sounded tortorous but fun.

Where do you come up with your stories? What a great take on this week's words. You have a such wonderful imagination!

Ah. . .the old karaoke workplace torture. I still have nightmares about singing Summer Lovin at a staff Christmas do.

I try to only sing in large crowds, where there are others to drown me out (or alone in my pickup). I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Glad you enjoyed though.I am looking forward to your "Great Leap" entry, I thought this was it, I would have to be pretty brave to do that.:)

A beautiful little story! This reflection is soul food in itself! And your karaoke story is hilarious! But glad it's you and not me! But I did love to sing many years ago! In a band would you believe! But that's another story for another day!

Charlie you are very funny. I bet your Mom is a good singer. Sounds like fun anyway.
Have a great day.

Loved your story again this week - you say so much with so few words.
Loved Charlie's picture - looked like he was blowing a raspberry - maybe at your karaoke - haha!!

Hahaha. My cat does the same thing with her tongue.

Love your little story!

And I think I feel about Karaoke like you do... I never seek it out, but have managed to have a lot of fun at it when I get coerced into going (haven't braved singing alone... I can't really carry a tune...)

I thought workplace karaoke had died out years ago! It sounds like quite good fun though - you picked good songs to belt out! xx

Thanks for the smile on my face!

Fantastic little story there. And I'm sure you could write a good one about someone reluctantly taking part in karaoke ...

I love your drabble, Old Kitty! You're really clever with those.

How can anyone think karaoke is a treat? I'd love to know! Still, I can do a little Bon Jovi if need me.

Bravo on the 33 words, way cool! I've never eaten Karaoke, but I think Charlie is telling me it doesn't taste good!

Momma can't hold a tune, In fact we sing better than she does, so please no karaoke for her.

Ha Charlie!!! You are so funny!

We love this story - so we think you are so good that you should take 3 of the word verification words (the first three that are actual words) and make a story with that! Our mom couldn't ever do it but we bet you could!

And boy, Karaoke - I don't know what to say about that. If we had to do that for my job I would suddenly have horrible stomach cramps and need to spend the time in the ladies room just to avoid it!

Ok, blogger is still being jerky with comments.

First, Charlie you are totally funny.

Next, I love the story. You should try to make one out of the first three real words you see in the word verification on various blogs - that coudl be interesting.

And Karaoke - pass!!

(that was condensed since I had to retype because I got an error)

Charlie did you forget to put your tongues away? Sometimes I do that.
As always Mama loves your story and thinks you are so lucky to have the gift of being a wordsmith. Winston x
