Haiku - Attishoo!

Wintry showers fall
I shiver under layers
Of soggy wet wool

**********

Above dear patient bloggie friends, is my tiny stab at Haiku poetry.

It's also my small contribution for the Winter in July challenge that lovely Kat over at aKatscorner is hosting.

She thought it'd be brilliant to post something wintery this Wednesday while the temperature is soaring and searing through for this scorcher of a summer!

Unless you are in Australia or New Zealand of course, where it is currently a snowy winter!

Please do join in if you wish!

Charlie says: I prefer the sun to your ahem.. "poem".

Have a wobbly Wednesday everyone!

I like your Haiku! Though admit I really don't want to think about wintry showers, shivering and soggy wet wool, not yet. ;-)

Smooches to sunny Charlie!

Hi Charlie

Mom is no poet,
so I told her
DO NOT TRY THIS!

Leave it to a
professional.

MOL!

Poor Mom
She tries
she really does!

Bye Charlie!

Hi Charlie,

That's a great Haiku your mum made. It's really really hot here in Portugal too, so it was nice to remember the cooler days of Winter.

How are your drawers? still wonky? Or in perfect working order? Inquiring minds want to know how well the epoxy worked...

I think your haiku is very good! It takes a lot of skill to write those tricky little verses. And yours is making me very happy to still be in summer! No more complaining about the heat, it's better than what you're describing! And besides, our cooler is fixed thanks to brilliant husband & son, so the house is quite pleasant now even though it got to 103 this afternoon.

I agree with you Charlie, but our winter post will be up mid morning tomorrow!

Hi Charlie and your human,

Thank you for stopping by to send some good wishes to Phantom - they are very much appreciated.

We liked your haiku. If you have any idea how we can get some snow, we sibes would love it - way too hot for us.

Love this post, writer-lady. It is a refreshing reminder of what the weather is doing elsewhere in the world. (But Charlie should appreciate that poetry. He's a lucky feline!)

I've studied haiku and written some. This is a good one! I'm all for writing wintry scene poems. The temps and humidity are so bad right now on the U.S. East coast that winter would be most welcome.

Jen seconds the motion, and wishes you a wobbly Wednesday also.

"Soggy wet wool" gives a vivid picture in three little words.

It's hard to think about winter now. Like Charlie, I'm glad it's summer.

I love your haiku! It's hard to think about winter right now, but your haiku brought it all back. :)

Charlie enjoy the sunshine while you can because although it is not snowy here it may as well be!
Mama says she likes the Haiku too.

I love the poem, Kitty! It's a nice contrast to the sun which is actually shining today! Yay!

Oh dear Jenn don't make me think of winter just yet especially if it's going to be as dreadful as last years.
On a brighter note Charlie is looking very handsome today.

That is a great poem. Well done We will go check out that site. Our Mom is NOT a poet either, so don't know if we should try this either.

Soggy wet wool. Now there's an image - wow - I can smell it right now!

Ugh, winter. I'm not a fan.

I think it's a great Haiku! Well done! We've finally cooled to comfortable--perfect summer weather in my book, though the hubby is still grumbling on humidity. Can't say how long it will last, as August is usually hottest (though the storms stop, so the humidity mellows just a little)

Haiku packs so much imagery into a just a few syllables! Your haiku was perfect. Cold wet wool actually sounds good when the alternative is humid, muggy, sweaty weather like we've been having (smile)

What a cute little poem - I feel very ignorant having never heard of Haiku before! I'm very envious of the UK's heatwave, we are having a miserable July x

Oh Charlie- it is a beautiful poem your mum has penned! She always captures the essence of a thing.
Well done!

Great job, I have always been fond of Haiku, especially when they are just a little silly. Thanks for playing.
