Fe-male brain and Ode to the Pet

Apparently my brain is 50% female and 50% male. I guess this means I may not be able to read maps but by jingo, I am more than capable of programming a thingymebob box thing - wot gives me freeview channels.

:-)

Before you all yell, "she's off her head" again, here's the test I did from the BBC website.

It takes about 20 minutes and is in 6 parts (you can always stop and return later). Then it takes another half an hour deciphering what the conclusions mean for you afterwards. And about a minute of headscratching and asking yourself why you did the test in the first place!

Oh and apparently I go for men with masculine faces... hm.

Speaking of brain power... I found this competition. Write a poem about your pet! Win £1000!

But most of all - it's nice to write Odes to the Pet now and again, isn't it?

I wrote this one for The Cat - and here's a pic of her showing her appreciation. It won't win any prizes but I had such fun writing it for her.

Here was last year's winning entry, to get you and your furry companion(s)' creative juices flowing...

Go on you know you want too..

:-)

I just took the test. My brain is also 50% female and 50% male. The test said - I too go for men with masculine faces. hey you and I are pretty similar.

You like masculine faces? No boy band members for you!

I don't think I have to take the test. Although for part of my life, I had more male friends than female friends, I can't fix a car, change a tire, or program any thingamajig (Except my DVR). On the upside, I can put together Ikea furniture.

Good luck with the kitty poetry contest!

Gee, I'll have to take the test when I'm at work....Oh, am I supposed to be *working* at the office? ;-)

Men with masculine faces, huh? As opposed to men with feminine faces or women with masculine faces? Can't wait to check this out. LOL.

I assume you'll enter the contest? I do hope so!

Tommy says she's right there with you on the PC part. Her laptop is borrowed and is 12 years old. I think a T-rex use to carry it. And she likes men with masculine faces too---ya know some? She'll pay postage....

That winning poem was lovely. Are you going to enter one of yours!

Will have to give that test a whirl.

Okay, I confess I gave up after the first part (spatial relations) of part 1. I did get 15 out of 20 correct, which is amazing for me, since my brain doesn't work that way. But trying to memorize the location of items and determine which had been moved was too much for me and I exited after reading the instructions. LOL.

Loved your poems - very witty and fun. Maybe will try the test. Thanks for reading about Yoko and Chica - they are my dearest cats.

Gosh, my personal brain score was zero. Is that meant to happen?

I will have to try the test when I get home - I am very curious!

Your poem's are great - I can't do any good poems (I always hated that assignment in school).

I saw your comment about Grayson at our blog - I couldn't even post the link til this morning it made me so sad. I was literally crying about him on the way to work - I knew if I didn't hear anything good before the end of the day I would probably take him myself - something about him, I don't know, it makes me cry just thinking about him.

I guess that is the female part of my brain working.

Hey

I just did the test.

I got a 50% female score (and nothing on male). Hm. Don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Curiously, Lexi had a link on her site to test out whether the prose in your book was male/female... mine came out quite clearly female.

So perhaps there's a feminine side to all my raving, murderous Nazis!

I prefer feminine faces... but didn't really need a test to point that out. Never have gone for whiskers and square jaws!

Hope Miss B is well.

Hi Theresa Milstein

No!! No boy band member pur-lease!! I'd mother them! LOL!

I have more male friends too and get on more with my male work colleagues! Oh dear! Oh but those IKEA instruction sheets drive me mad. It's like all drawings and no words. I always second guess and hope for the best ... until you get to the end bit and there's a piece missing... arrrrgh!

Hi Amy and the House of Cats

Awwww!!! Of course its the female side of your brain - that's the best most humane most loveliest side, really and truly.

I am so, so, so happy that Grayson has found a forever home - it was really so touch and go there wasn't it? Thanks for publicising his plight! I think we all need big furry hugs after all that. And great news too about Skeletor!

Double yay!

Hi altguy3

It's good to embrace your feminine side!

I have! LOL!

and did you mean your Afrika Reich prose is feminine? Good grief!!!

I must trawl Lexi's blog to find this test - I'd scream if my cat poetry will turn out to be er.. mancatly!

I'm taking one day at a time with ms B...

That was a long test! I like all men! :-)

Your poem was funny Old Kitty.

Last year's winning poem was a little sad but made a good point. Now I want to rescue a 9 years old cat.
