Heels and squeals

Killer Heels

by Old Kitty

Killer heels, patent leather
Black, red or multi-coloured
Leggy models falling over
Limping off into the void.

In shops, online or displayed
Feet are raised at all angles
Unnatural and on tiptoes
No red carpet only woes.

Plasters, creams and pedicures
Blisters, bruises and cracked soles
Pounding pavements they click click click
These must-haves, these killer heels.

*****************************************************

Inspired by my sister's pic sent to me to show off her gorgeous feet and NEW HEELS.
It's ok, she's in Australia and apparently they've been experiencing a heatwave.

Yes, we're having a heatwave, but I could never, ever manage a pair of heels like those!
Thongs (flip-flops) for me.
Like the pome tho :)

Fun poem, and I adore your last stanza! I do not think I could walk in those!

High heels can look great but they really aren't for me! I like to be able to walk.

Love this poem.

I follow a blog called "Martinis or Diaper Genies", and this woman LOVES heels, posting her new finds. That's all good but if I walked in a pair like the ones in your photo, I'd resemble a little girl shuffling in her mother's stilettos. And I'd probably sprain something!

That said, high heels look sexy, and I wish I were the type to pull them off.

Really enjoyed the poem!

Those are serious heels. "Come f**k me" heels.

I wouldn't even be able stand upright in heels. My preferred footwear is sneakers or hiking shoes. LOL. Better yet is to be in bare or sock feet, at least when indoors. :-)

Hi KarenG

I don't think my sister can either - I think that's why she's prone in the pic. I hope she doesn't read this!!

Oh dear!

LOL!

Hi fairyhedgehog

I know just what you mean but heels are my addiction and every so often I just have to sashay (oh ok, teeter) on them.

My sister on the otherhand will not be seen without hers at all!

Take care

Oh I love shoes like that - I have some nice high ones but almost never get to wear them. I think once it is warm here I might have to - you have inspired me!

Oh, and I saw your comment about the kitty cursor at our site - if you would like I can send you the code - you just pop it in a widget and voila! You can email me (link in my profile) if you would like it. I got it from one of the free cursor sites but cleaned it up to get the advertising and hinky stuff off.

Makes me start limping just to look at them! And yet, and yet...

Wow, there's no way I could walk in those either! Is it one of those things you have to start doing when you're something like twelve or you can never do?

Hi Amy and the House of Cats

Oh yes please, please, please may I turn my cursor into a kitty one? Thank you so much, will email you!

I'm so glad you like wearing these gorgeous shoes. I do like them - I mean I'll fall over backwards on them but I'd slip them on and never go anywhere and just ADMIRE!

I do hope you get nice weather soon so we can all finally show our toesies!

Hi Hampshireflyer!

LOL!!

That's so true for my sister. She had the legs back then. You know I hope to goodness she doesn't stumble across this blog piece.

Ooops.

WOW! Gorgeous! I haven't worn shoes like that since I left my 2o's. Tell your sister to enjoy it while she can!

Fun poem!
