A Pot of Spring

Bloggie friends!

To give me writer-ly hope as I submit my story and to hopefully put a spring on all your steps, here’s a pic that promises new life, fresh beginnings and more daylight.

A pot of various growing bulbs and a stray pansy or two.

The bulbs were planted in layers- the idea being that they will grow in various stages from spring to autumn but they seem to be growing all at once. Ooops!

Charlie says: Yep, Spring is right behind me!

Wednesdays mean we're halfway there!

Charlie might be looking at that pot and thinking 'lunch!'

I hope your story wins the prize and I hope spring really is right around the corner; however, here in New Hampshire, we received enough snow today to warrant many school cancellations and slow driving today!

We are so glad you are on the trail of spring.

I love seeing little buds poke their heads out even if they are coming up at the wrong time! lol

Bet Charlie likes to see Spring, "springing!"

We did the same thing, and ours all came up within a couple weeks! Now it has snowed and iced and they're all confused...

You've had so much snow. I'm shocked. Take pictures again if they flower!

Hi Old Kitty,
It's not Wednesday yet on this side of the pond ;)
Oh, how lovely the analogy of budding plants in Spring and writing. I think your writing can develop in layers as well. Love Charlie's pic.

We're still in winter, but oh how Jen and I long for spring! Your photograph is just what we need to give us hope!!!

This is a very pretty sign of Spring! We will not see bulbs growing until March at the earliest. Winter is holding tight this year!

Good luck with your story!

Lovely photo, thank goodness this winter is nearly over.

I love it when all this cracks off.

This — and the wry smiles on the faces of the gnomes.

But that means Autumn is on the way for us :-(

I've looking eagerly outside my window for any signs of spring but judging by the frost this morning it will a while yet! Oh, well.

I must check on my potted daffodils. I hope they survived the winter out in my cold frame.
Looks like your bulbs have done well.

It's lovely to see the bulbs coming up again. I saw the first snowdrop in our garden yesterday!

I can't wait for Spring! I've got loads of gardening to do! Bulbs to plant! Grass to revitalize!

Lexi said...

I can't wait. I have daffodil bulbs sprouting on my balcony, but I'm afraid the icy weather has killed off the fuchsia I've had for ages (my fault - should have taken some inside).

Fabulous blue sky over London today :o)

Ahh yes, Spring is on the way! Thanks for posting the photo as we are in the midst of a very cold Winter and could use some encouragement!

Creepy Query Girl said...

yes, the sun is shing here too. this post reminds me that I have an herb garden that needs to be cut back before it sprouting begins. And I'm pretty sure there's some dog poop that needs to be cleaned outta there too. Lovely:)

Jenn - your bulbs have all come up together but apart from one green shoot ours are not through yet!!
They must be on a go slow!!
Hope you and Charlie have a good day.

Charlie, you need to ask your mum to plant some kitty grass for you to nibble on!!!!!!!!

Love to both of you....we are so thankful to have you as friends.

Growing things! I have such poor skill that mine never would have come up at all (the squirrels got the bulbs I tried this fall) so I think all at once is just fine.

Maria McKenzie said...

Can't wait to see it in some point of full bloom:)!

Love the promise of new life! Charlie--Are you getting better looking with each season?

Beautiful picture of new life! Glad Charlie's enjoying it, too! :)

Ooh, those Spring bulbs look promising! Best of luck with the story.
Thank you for stopping by my blog and for all your kind comments.
I spend far too long playing with your hamster gadget!!

Marg said...

Oh look at those bulbs coming up. That is so exciting. The same thing would happen to me. They would all come up at once. I wish I had planted some bulbs like that in a pot. Oh well, will just have to watch yours come up. Take care.

I meant to plant bulbs too and be all smug when my garden was abundant with colour, but no, I never got around to it :(
That's going to be a gorgeous array you have there, I can see it now!

Thanks for that little taste of spring. I need it, the snow if falling fast here. We're going to be under quite a layer by morning.

I am in houston right now and it does not even feel like winter - shoes have been abandoned in favor of flip flops

Jenn said...

Spring! I want it. We're supposed to get more snow and ice tonight here.

Do you plant catnip for Charlie? If so, Charlie would say: "I'm all over that!" ;)
