What's rain for?

Bloggie friends!!

What a silly day!! Not only did it rain heavily but the window cleaners were out in force around the estate where I live.

Yes bloggie friends!! These poor souls were wearing yellow fluorescent waterproofs splashing water on rain soaked windows.

Oh but worse!!! As I meandered towards the station, some person had their lawn sprinkler going. While it rained.

Oh well. At least I got to wear my rather fabulous and dazzling Hunter Biker kick-ass (pardon my French!) wellies!

Charlie says: I smell rainwater and soapsuds!

Have a fortunate Friday and whacky weekend everyone!!!

We need a picture of the wellies. I haven't even gotten to wear my black and white hounds tooth wellies this year. No snow yet.

It's been raining here too!
Weird climate change.

Normally when Chinese New Year is around the corner, it will be very hot and breezy.

We term it as "Blowing the Chinese New Year Wind" (direct translation).

As of today, we are still waiting for the "CNY Wind" heheeh, nothing to do with my wind problem...

Lots of love to you and Charlie. I hope the rain don't get too serious.

Charlie!! You gotta be on the inside if it's raining outside! You don't want your little spots to wash off!

I wish it would rain here more often. I think this year it rained only about 10 times. That's not enough for my plants. Hmmm, although, we did get Hurricane Alex and then it flash flooded.

I loved this Old Kitty. Your observations on this baffling world of ours are always well worth reading - as were your first and last line Blogfest entries, the other day, which I missed putting a comment on, at the time. Will you be going on with the 2011 opening line?! I'm very intrigued ....
All best

Sprinklers in the rain? That's just wrong!

We're supposed to get some snow beginning today and through the weekend.

Stay dry!

So let's see a pic of your fabulous and dazzling Hunter Biker kick-ass wellies! :-P

Think I'll post a pic of my snow boots later, in the style of Pia. Hahaha!

Glad to hear you are showing off your posh wellies - they'll cheer up a very dreary day.
Stay dry Charlie.

Our mama loves rain....is she silly or what????? And she loves to walk in it, but only if it's a fairly gentle rain.......what we get here are mostly Texas gully washers, which means she can't walk in them or she'd wash away into a gully somewhere!!!!!! She soooooo loved the rains in Ireland.

Another handsome pic of you, Charlie....but what else could it be but handsome, as you are one handsome dude.

We send our love to both of you.

O.K.,
Hmmm, your weekend appears to be off to a very wacky start! I've seen that before w/ sprinklers on in the rain, but never have I seen people washing windows then! However, they don't need any buckets, they can just squeegee the rainwater?

Hi Charlie, hope it gets sunny soon for you.

Marg said...

I have seen sprinklers going in the rain. How silly is that. But the window washers takes the cake. That is hysterical. Charlie you had better stay home where it is nice and dry. Hope you both have a fabulous week end.

Can't believe how ..do I want to say stupid...people are. What a waste of water too. Jealous of your Wellies!

Tracy said...

Well, YES, you got to wear your "kick butt' gear but also, isn't it fun to have the opporutnity the rain provides to curl up with a book and read for the day?
I always laugh when it is pouring down rain and someone has their sprinkler on; really?

Lydia Kang said...

Have a great weekend yourself! I always think it's odd when sprinklers are on during the rain...

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

Big fluffy white snowflakes are falling from the skies here! As long as we don't end up with two feet of snow again I don't mind.

Happy weekend to you and Charlie!

They were cleaning windows . . . when it was already raining?! That's weird. :P

Having a lawn sprinkler on while it rains? IMO that's just wasteful. Sheesh.

We've heard of wellies and just googled them. Jan says she remembers when she was a girl in the dinosaur age that kids wore boots or galoshes in the rain, along with a raincoat and hat. But she hasn't seen a raincoat or rain boots of any kind in millenia. Or is that decades?

Bet you did look kick-a, Kitty. I want a pair of wellies so bad! I've asked for them as a birthday gift for the last three years, but without success. Maybe this time it will work! Have the best weekend, Charlie and K.

Oh Charlie,

Rain water and soap suds! Are you getting ready for a "b-a-t-h!?

Old Kitty, grab him now!

We're glad you stopped by today. And we hope you have a nice weekend.

Cokie the Cat: Hollywood Insider said...

LOL! Wellies always put me in mind of European rock festivals - are they *always* muddy?? And are Wellie's actually comfortable? The only rainboots mom has worn have given her blisters.

Admittedly I she hasn't found herself sloshing about in the mud very often here in Hollywood. Mostly concrete and hills you wouldn't want to navigate when drenched!

There's some fab wellies about these days, mine are covered in smarties (not real ones, that would be just a waste of smarties, all the colours running in the rain and all...pretty though)
I saw a window cleaner up a ladder in the snow, his ladder was planted on a rather icy pavement, which I thought was rather dangeroose!
Have a great weekend!

Manzanita said...

For the past three days, it's been raining in Montana. A little odd for January. I don't have wellies but just some old rubber boots and raincoat.
