A Lightbulb moment

Bloggie friends!!!

Yesterday my brand spanking new filling fell out of my front tooth.

For a while I spoke with an involuntary whistle that caused me and my dentist much hilarity!

Luckily, it’s all fixed and no harm done.

Which came to the question of what to do with the old filling that I kept safe as evidence? ( I'm an artist and I live by different rules, darn it! LOL!)

To which my dentist replied: “Try selling it on ebay”.

Hmmm. (Does anyone else see a light bulb go ping above my head??!?!)

Charlie says: When I am through with my bath I shall go next door.

The fabulous fairyhedgehog is doing her Rabbit Hole Day tomorrow to celebrate Lewis Carroll’s birthday (27 Jan). If you’d like to join up just leave a comment on her blog here and then post something weird and odd and downright Jobberwocky on your blog on the 27th! Simples! :-)

Hi...

We are here to visit you :)

Have a nice day and take care :-*

A similar thing happened to me on my birthday. I was at a restaurant at the time!

Nothing like a bit of whistling whilst you work :)

Hi Old Kitty! If you keep the filling today and let it stay with you for many years, it might be considered a rare 'fossil' one day and you will earn a lot of money! LOL!

Happy Tuesday, dear! :)

It's hard for me to discard anything, so I'd probably keep it. It may come in handy...lol

Oh my gosh...I totally forgot that Lewis Carroll and I share the same birthday! I only think of Mozart and Ellen DeGeneres as birthday pals....thanks for the reminder!
That would not be the strangest thing to sell on ebay so maybe you should see what your tooth is worth out there!

Oh, I didn't see no light bulb. But that's okay, I can see in the dark!

Poor you! Whistling without filling. If the filling is made out of gold, I'd totally sell it. Gold is high now. Or make it into a pendant.

That is one of the cutest, maybe THE cutest picture of Charlie.

Happy Tuesday!

Are you really selling your filling on ebay? Is it gold? Oh, I can't believe I'm even asking.

Somebody on eBay will probably give you $50 for it!

Susan Gourley/Kelley said...

You're a good sport to laugh with your dentist about that.

Charlie shouldn't be so disagreeable. He should help you on Ebay.

I never had a filling fall out but I have had my tubes fall out of my ears which isn't a good thing lol.

A second hand filling? Lovely.
Hope the new one survives!

I could do with a spare filling in case of emergencies…..

Have a nice day, Boonie

I really can't imagine what you can do with a defunct filling!

Thanks for the shout out about Rabbit Hole Day (which wasn't thought up by me but I do like to see it happen.)

Ouch glad you got the filling fixed double quick. Mum says she wont be buying the filling as teeth are her phobia.. Looks like Charlie is super white and clean to me.. Hugs GJ xx

Hey I have done crazier things.
I once had a real bat in my freezer for over a year.
Hmmm, post material do you think?

Kea said...

All I can think is that I hope the dentist didn't charge you to replace the filling, since it was just done. And that I hope this one stays in! If this, too, falls out, I'd suggest a new dentist. LOL.

Charlie - we think next door is the safest place for you at the moment - your mum is going to write strange stories and you never know she may involve you!!

Too bad your lost your filling, Old Kitty. But a chance at ebay? Go for it!

Now that Charlie has the right idea--taking a bath. Psst, Charlie! Around here, a bath means "nap-time" afterward.

I think that would be a riot to put your filling on Ebay. Who knows, you might get a lot of money. We think you should give it a try.
Hope you have a super day.

Sorry about the tooth problem. I had the same thing happen to me last summer. Oh well, at least your dentist is the kind of person you can have a laugh with.

I am totally giggling about you talking with a whistle. I think if you paste the filling on a piece of wrapping paper and then frame it, you might get some takers...

Tara said...

Um, ouch! Glad you got it fixed quickly.

I'd love to have heard the whistle! Haha! Glad it's all fixed now, and I'll be looking forward to the lunch at the Ritz with the proceeds from your filling.

I'm glad you got it fixed quickly. I've had fillings come out before also, but mostly in my mollers. -Waves at Charlie-

what has the health system come to when a filling would go on ebay? LOL Glad your smile is back in order!

Yup, a person can sell most anything on ebay....or buy most anything there.

We hope Charlie isn't going next door to be sure he doesn't get sold on ebay!!!!!! ::That was a poor attempt at a joke....we know Charlie would never be sold....on ebay or anywhere else::

Love to the both of ya.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with your filling. :)

And thank you so much for your words of encouragement on my blog. "Resonate with resonance"-That's gonna be my new motto. ;)

that's a beautiful picture of Charlie! And omg--LOL at you speaking w/a whistle... :D

I have a cap on my front tooth, and when it's missing, I look like Jim Carrey. Yep! xoxo <3

Oh dear....I would have not been amused as I hate the dentist more than anything. If a NEW filling fell out I would not have been happy to have to undergo having it refilled...and hopefully you didn't have to pay for it.

Helllllllooo sweet Charlie.

Ouch! Losing a filling must have hurt. Wonder if anyone would buy a used filling on e-bay? They buy most anything there.
