Slow-mo

Bloggie friends!

A sample of how slow I am with reading a book!

I borrowed an anthology of short stories in July 2009 from a library near where I work.

And I am still reading it.

Charlie says: My mice has multiplied to the power of 3!

Let's have a Tuesday tune! La-la-la-la! :-)

Either it's really good and you don't want it to end, or it's boring and you can't quite make yourself finish it.
MOL!

Hellllo dear Charlie.

Kitty - you win!
Or does Charlie win with three mice?

Short stories aren't that conducive to fast reading, so no worries!

I wouldn't be too worried about the time it takes for you to read a book unless you thought the book was dull and didn't capture your attention. Otherwise, you are probably too busy blogging and writing your novel leaving no time to read!

How much do you owe?!

In all fairness, I rarely read short story books that quickly. I'm sure you have the same problem. ; )

If you finish it before July, it won't be exactly two years late.

Hmmm.. an 'anthology'. I thought that was the study of ants LOL
And Charlie, so that would be thrice the mice eh?

Oh Kitty, I can identify with this! I am a slow reader, too, but I'm trying to put into practice "speed" reading that I learned several decades ago. I learned that you retain more this way. So I'm working on this because I don't have enough time left in my life to read all the books I want to read!!!

Let me know if you finish the anthology in the next decade (LOL)!! (You got a laugh from Jen, too!)

Time for a better book!

NO WAY!! My word is "readerr"!!

Wow= thats a long time to borrow a book! good luck finishing it.

I read several at a time and seem to take forever to read them. Hope all is well - been hibernating - cold, snow and dark days will do that to me!

Hugs to you and Jenn!

I'm still reading "Genghis Khan" borrowed from a fellow colleague in Thailand, that was 2006? hehehe

At least you are reading.

I know what you mean: I'm rereading old books and only 1 new book a week as my brain is too tired to cope with a lot of new stuff.

Since you posted about reading, may I do some shameless self-promotion? Would you please take a look at my romance novel at http://www.ink-slinger.com/Products/151-blackmail-bride.aspx ?

Have the library police come looking for it yet?

Joanna St. James said...

did you make those for Charlie?
I'm curious this book you borrowed in 2009 do you owe any fees on it?

More mice = more noms! Well done Charlie!!

Take your time! We rush too much. Savour it rather than dashing through to the end!

What's the library fine now? LOL!

Patsy said...

I hope you remembered to renew it?

Goodness! Think of the library fines!

I hear you on the slow-mo, with me it's all or nothing. I either finish in record time or it goes on forever!

There's an award for you over on my blog. Have a great day!

Maybe it's because it's short stories? I read several books a week.

Sharon K. Mayhew said...

YIKES! You're going to have a huge fine!

Have a great day, Jennifer. :-)

That must be some exciting short stories...you just can't put it down!!!

Pip said...

Oh My- we sure hopes you renewed your book borrow, or you will have one heck of a fine!
We thinks those mousies needs some batting around, handsome Charlie!

We thought you would read a book quite quickly with doing your writing. We don't read books we'd sooner play with our mouses and anything else we can find when mum has laid on the floor with a stick to whap all our missing toys out from under the bed.
Head butts to Charlie xx xx

Well, cats aren't the fastest of readers, so we'll cut you some slack!

I have books that take three days to three months to read. Sometimes its because I puck up new books to read. I'll get around to finishing them in my own good time.

Our mama used to read a lot, but the last couple of years, she hasn't done much reading....she says her eyes have gotten too old!!!!!!

Another wonderful pic of you, dear Charlie. xxxxxxxx

LOL! So long as you are enjoying it :O)

Are you near the end yet? Has the library come looking for it?

joanne fox said...

I just paid a £2 library fine yesterday, and that was only for a few days overdue, so I do hope you've kept up to date with renewing that book!

Hart Johnson said...

And your library isn't clamoring?! Our library loans for 4 weeks. If there is a waiting list, then after that they fine you. If there is no list, then you can renew it, but I always feel pressured...

Unknown said...

I'm a slow reader as well. However, I had to speed up because so many debut authors are begging me to read their books.

Did you knit/crochet those mice?

Talli Roland said...

Hehe! There are some books I am super slow to read - not sure I'm quite at your level though! :) Happy Tuesday!

notesfromnadir said...

Return it & check it out again!

I see that Charlie is looking super busy at the moment!

I hope you renewed and don't have massive library fees. Thanks for your comments on Stephen's blog.

Lucky Charlie!

I've got some books I've been meaning to read for a while...but I need to be in the mood for them.

Roxy said...

I'd say, give yourself another year on that anthology! You're busy writing and living and being absolutely amazing. Oh, and taking care of Charlie, of course! There is only so much time in a day, Kitty.

Melissa Gill said...

Look at Charlie with his mice, all in a little corral. I think he might be part border collie? No, I'm just kidding. Don't tell him I said that.

Manzanita said...

You'll have a small fortune in library fines. :)
Charlie loves his mice.
Love and peace xo xo

Marg said...

Sounds like the speed in which I read books too. It takes me forever unless it is a really good one.
That is nice that your mice are multiplying Charlie. They must be having babies. Take care you two.

Marilia said...

Charlie!!
You are so smart!

I usually take a long time with anthologies, despite the fact I read fast with other books. There's something about the short story that takes me longer.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

I think you may soon own that book, Jen! It's happened that I found a book or two that I forgot to return to the library and it was cheaper to tell them I lost it, and pay full price for it, than pay my overdue fine :)
