Bloggie friends!!!!
I just realised that my 9 year old DVD player does not play Blu-ray DVDs.
So if anyone has any ideas what I may do with my Blu-ray DVD of Toy Story 3 given to me as a Christmas pressie then please do say! :-)

Well, now that's tricky. I don't think you can do much except 1. Get a blue-ray player or 2. use it as a new coaster. Hm... Sorry to hear of it. Maybe you can make it a new toy for Charlie!
Oh my, maybe Charlie can figure that one out!
Simple! Go buy a BluRay player. They're only $100-150 US dollars right now - dirt cheap!
I suggest you give it away or buy a blu ray player?
Lovely cat :)
How about a tiny auction? Or maybe a trade?
Library donation? Or friends with little kids?
Sorry about that. Poor you! I know how much you loved that movie. I suggest you hold onto it because if your DVD player dies, you'll be able to watch it.
I would take it back to HMV and swap for a non blu ray dvd.
Awwww what a cutie!
Blue Ray??!!! I do not have one either!
Dear Old Kitty,
I wish I could help you. I'm useless when it comes to electronics. :( Maybe if you post the question in one of those chatrooms... Don't be blue, I know someone will help you. ;)
I don't know the details because hubby is the techie, not me. And watching movies is his thing, not mine. However, I know he watches BluRay on his PC. I think he had to download some software to do it, but I believe I remember him saying there was a free version of that software available.
Google "watch blu-ray on pc". Lots of articles and info available. You'll need a newer DVD player with Blu-Ray capability and some software. If you already have the DVD player, even if you have to buy the software, at $40-$100, it's still WAY cheaper than buying a Blu-Ray player.
It sounds like you either need to update your system of...regift...
I've never gotten a blue ray, I have the same issue though, my player doesn't play blue ray. You could re-gift it to someone who does have one, or buy a blue ray player, or you could get creative and do crafts out of the disc :)
You could always take it to a store to return... that's a pretty widely sold movie. Blu-Ray is a little more expensive than dvd so you can buy the TS3 dvd and have a few bucks left over. :) Or go buy a Blu-Ray player! They aren't crazy expensive anymore, and they play your old dvd's and upconvert them so even they look better! Win/win either way! :)
I wish I could do this, clever kitty!
Just came by to say thanks for coming to a session of my Pub Party! Did you know our friend Helen M Hunt is speaking next week. I hope you'll come along and support her.
Denise :)
Charlie, Who wanna walk pass you have to pay ticket ! ( all kind of cat food )
PS : Mom got no idea about Blue Ray DVD..sorry
Heh heh heh... long cat is LONG!!
Note to Charlie's mummy - you should get a blu ray player!!They have them on the PS3 consoles as well... the blu ray discs have some awesome extras on them.
Maybe an upgrade to a BluRay player? ;)
Ebay! Then you can afford to buy a copy of the proper DVD with the proceeds.
Tell Charlie that Maisie says she does it to trip up the humans.
I hate that movie makers switched formats. I haven't bought a new DVD in ages because I'm on strike! LoL.

What a great stretch Charlie - you are really close to touching both walls Charlie.
Can you exchange your new DVD player Jenn - if you can get hold of the receipt. If not the only other things I can think of is to put on e-bay or into one of the auctions on the CB.
Maybe play it in your shiny new Blu-Ray DVD player?
Sell your Blue ray on Ebay. Or maybe someone who blogs will trade you.
Charlie you are looking great all stretched out. You are one long dude. Take care
Oh dear - don't know the answer to that one - we a horribly behind in gadgets and thingies. We wouldn't be able to play it either.
How about giving it to a shelter or a nursing home? OR just let Charlie play with it!
no bluray for me either. Sorry, hon! Perhaps the library would like a donation? scratches to Charlie! <3
Can you watch it on your computer?
I think you may be able to play it on your computer... not positive, but it's possible... good luck!
Oh, dear, that is a real shame!!!!! We're not sure if there is anything you can do about it, OK.
Lookin' mighty fine there, Charlie!!!!!!
xxxxxxxx
oh dear. i too have trouble with machines and toys. but cats are a consolation...full of grace, indeed.
I don't really know . . . Blu-Ray but no player--that's a problem!
Technology gets outdated too fast!
I think Charlie is catching spiders again....
Look at that fluffy ring tail :-)
Haven't a clue about your DVD.... it was a really good film though. ah you haven't seen it yet... they all..........
ah, try Shriek..... :-)x x x
cheapest solution: trade it for a version your player recognizes...
Goodness, Charlie. You look like you're about 100 feet long!
But doesn't that stretch feel soooo good?
Kitty,
Thank you so much for your kind words the past couple days following my blog. It's been tough but the support I've been given by all of you has been incredible; thank you!
I do not have a Blu-Ray player because I don't want to get rid of all my DVD's although the Blu-Ray is spectacular...it always seems I am a day late and a dollar short :)
Keep it. You know eventually you will be forced to buy a BluRay (whatever that is!). Bol! Cute stretch picture. When we stretch mama says,"Bowwwww".
Smooches from pooches,
BabyRD and Hootie
I have no idea what to do with blue-ray. But I do wish I could stretch like that...without needing a chiropractor afterward.
Yes Charlie! You can!!!! Kisses!
Oh don't tell me of another milestone of my electronics being obsolete again. They keep coming up with new ways to make you spend money, don't they?????
Maybe it's time for a blu-ray player?
Oh Charlie
You don't care if it's blue or red do you?

We sure don't know. We can't even play DVD videos on our computer. Audio yes, video no. Something about not having codecs. We used to have codecs because we downloaded them from MS. Now we can't. So we're even more tech deficient than you are. :)
