Yellow fines

I’ve been very naughty bloggie friends!

I’ve just renewed a library book late and incurred a 30p fine. LOL! I have honest to goodness and to all that is good and true never accumulated a library fine ever.

Ever.

I hang my head in deep shame.

Charlie says: Me too.

In other news - 2 October is Livestrong Day!

Livestrong was launched by the Lance Armstrong Foundation to raise awareness and support for cancer survivors globally. Please go here for more in depth information about Livestrong and all the events happening in a place near you! There are marathons, walks, all sorts of fun stuff happening, so do join in if you are able to!

Me and Charlie hope to support Livestrong Day through linking to several participating blogs hosted by the fab Milo and Alfie and Zoolatry.

Their idea is to turn blogs over for the day to the colour yellow! Yay!

Have a fabulous Friday everyone!!

Hi Charlie
WE finally got our innernets back.
Well we hope we got them back. It's too hard to tell. Since the last 3 days they have kept leaving us. We will hope that they are here to stay. We do not like being innernet-less.

When it comes to enduring pain, I'm yellow and not even close to being curious (a pun on an ancient and strange movie, I AM CURIOUS YELLOW.)

I never had a library fine either until I had the children. Now we get an overdue fine once every three months or so. We've also bought a book because their puppy ate it, no make that tow books the dog ate, and a third book we bought because one of the children weeed on it.

I think of it not as fines but as an additional way to aid the library.

Wow, your first library fine - that is crazy! I haven't had one since I was a kid, but honestly, I haven't been to a library in a very long time (I usually just buy a book if I want it - used books freak me out). But it isn't anythihg to be ashamed of, because it means you read. And Charlie, you shouldn't be ashamed either. Unless it was an embarassing book - then maybe be a litte ashamed.

And we are all set for LIVESTRONG day - we have our post done, and will be going all yellow (right now we are all pink for breast cancer awareness month). We think it is a going to be a great day!

Remember when all the kids were wearing the Live Strong elastic wristbands? As for library fines, I never worry about them as I figure it's money going to a good cause! So unlike most other fines, like parking tickets, late fees and overdraft charges, I pay library fines with a smile :)

Never received a library fine?! Wow. I'm impressed. I see them as library donations. : )

I was shocked and disappointed at myself when I had to pay a library fine for the first time. I was 12, and since then I've gotten over it.

It'll be interesting to see all that yellow. I'll check out the link.

Have a great weekend.

I can't recall ever having a library fine, but you never know! A whole 30p, huh? That's 49 cents Canadian. Whew. Hefty fine. LOL!

Have a great Friday! We'll be going yellow too, for LIVESTRONG day.

Repeat after me, "I've been a very bad girl and promise never to do it again." LOL. I lost a book once and to pay to replace it. I was mortified!

I remember last year, some time around my birthday I had occurred my first ever library fine of AU$15. I paid that, and then for my birthday, Crazy got me a Kindle. I have not borrowed a book from the library ever since... I sometimes go there to just sit and read from my Kindle while Crazy is on his way to pick me up... But that's it!

It does have an immense 'shaming' effect. LOL!

You might have more fines coming too. There are you and Charlie reading now and it takes a bit longer! We will be purrticipating in LiveStrong 2010 also!!!

Libraries used to rub their hands with glee when I took out books, as soon they'd be able to top up their tea-bag collection via my fines! In fact I think I still have a library book somewhere from 1980 - shhh! Don't tell a soul. :)

Oh Charlie, you and your mum are too lovely too get a fine!!

Thank you so much for all your kind words and thoughts for Inigo. We've been so grateful for all the support we've found in the blogosphere, and your posts have meant so much to us.

Oh, that's interesting! I might make my blog yellow tomorrow:) Don't think it would look to good, design-wise, but one should show one's support, right? Thanks for the tip!

Also, you're very naughty, but I think we've all been there in re the library book. I even stole a book from my library once. On purpose. Yeah, I said it!

We hope Charlie didn't have to lend you the money to pay the fine!! haha!!

I think there are a whole lot worse things to do that have an overdue Library book. Too funny.

My library is too nice. They don't have overdue fines. As a result, I hardly ever get my books back on time.

I joined "Live Strong" years ago and wore the yellow bracelet proudly!

My library allows us to renew online and by telephone...it really helps me not be late anymore and have to pay fines, but when I do i think of it as a well deserved donation ;)
