The Dreaded White Screen

Oh bloggie friends you are all super duper stars!!

Purple heart n stars Pictures, Images and Photos

And to those brave souls willing to be tortured entertained by my prose - thank you so so so much!

I was so excited I scrambled to my pc to email my text to you wonderful volunteers - except I got thwarted by this:

The dreaded white screen where absolutely nothing happens no matter how many times I hit refresh.

Oh and Charlie wanting to throw me out of the keyboard/his bed.

Hopefully I'll sort something out by the weekend - thanks again - absolutely no pressure to read whatsoever.

And thanks for enlightening me on what PDT means. I knew maths was involved so maybe that's why I sorta blanked out...! LOL!

Have a terrific Thursday everyone!

Blame it on too much fur in the keyboard!

Is this akin to the dreaded blue screen of death? I hope not!

If you send it, we'll happily read it! :-)

Have a terrific Thursday. (Is it only Thursday tomorrow? Not Friday? Long week....LOL.)

I need to go through the comments on the last post then because I still don't know what PDT is!

Hope you have a fantastic Thursday as well! Except it's still Wednesday here ;)

The dreaded white screen at my house is often caused by the feet of my sweet adoring cat Ollie. Per chance that charming grey and white kitty might have something to do with it at your house.

Try restarting your computer in safe mode and then run the program system restore.

Hi Old Kitty,
Sorry to hear you encountered the "White Zone". Yep! This usually happens when the computer has had enough of our writing ;)
But look at it this way, it's better for the computer to go blank and not you, LOL! You know, white page syndrome. ;)
Have a lovely and productive Thursday!

Oh no, I hope your computer gets fixed - I was looking forward to some good reading!

I hate the white screen! Because I don't have great internet here in Mexico, I often get that screen. Drives me nuts!

Well, I hope you have a great weekend.

I hope all your problems are solved soon. There is nothing more frustrating.

Oh no, hope that dreaded screen does not keep you from blogging!

Oh no hope you get it sorted quickly. So frustrating. You look as though you got help there on the job though with Charlie.. Hugs GJ xx

Not the dreaded white screen! Do you have your worked backed up? I hope so.

I'm anxiously awaiting this e-mail.

I love how Charlie owns whatever space he's occupying.

This week is going on forever.

Here's hoping your White Screenitis doesn't last too long. I too would love to read your chapter. Not very adapt at the critiquing but I would do my best.

Have a wonderful Thursday. Maybe Charlie jinxed the screen just so you wouldn't disturb him!!

Charlie will match the screen then now it's white. I've never had a dreaded white screen - what does that mean? I have had a dreaded black one when something (don't know what) got tired and I had to get a friend to tell me what it was and replace it for me.
Hope you haven't lost anything important.

I'm not saying it's Charlie's fault but, well, he DOES look awfully smug! :)

URGH! I hope it isn't fatal!--I had monitor issues yesterday, but realized the power cord to the monitor was just loose, so it was an easy fix... hope yours is similar (is your stuff all backed up elsewhere, I hope?!)

Helen Ginger said...

White screen sounds better than a blue or black screen. I hope it's easier to fix than those others!

Oh, no!!!!!!!!!! Not the dreaded white screen......we hope you won't blame it on Charlie.

Charlie, handsome dude, we know you are totally innocent and are sure your mama realizes that also.

Love to both of you.

We hope you get your white screen fixed!

We think Charlie wants his keyboard bed back!

notesfromnadir said...

So nice of Charlie to let you use his "bed" while you ponder that white screen. You can go in & change the background so it's pink or yellow or blue -- not that I've ever tried that! :)

Hi Charlie, did you make that screen white so Mom would stop working on the computer??Hope it is all right now. We can't wait to read the writings of Mom. We know it is going to be good. Take care and Charlie please fix the computer.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

Oh no! When this happens to me I and the alternate/control/delete trick doesn't work, I hit "restart" and keep my fingers crossed that it will bring me back to the browser!

Charlie is a good supervisor...lol!

Esme said...

How frustrating-licking the screen-shame on you. You have me in stitches.

Jenny Woolf said...

Oh crumbs. I had an awful blue screen the other day. I guess you have done all the usual things like hit control-alt-delete.
Good luck!!!

Private said...

Oh!!! I want to read!!! Hope your screen regains saity soon, or that Charlie knocks some sense into it! you can e-mail me at asredisch@gmail.com with your story if you want - it's the "least I can do" after you so kindly read my story!
