Crossed Pink Wires

Oh my pink brolly!
I left you on the train
I guess I was a bit doollally
And also quite insane
Not thinking straight as always
So I deserved my walk in the rain!
:-)

Bloggie friends!!!!! I have a confession to make.

As Halloween fever becomes more celebrated here – especially with the trick or treat concept – this is what I’ve tended to do whenever this time comes round.

I draw the curtains, turn the lights off, ignore the doorbell and move about in the dark! LOL!

How Bah Humbug is that?!?!?!

Charlie says: Stardate 010103. Operation Trip Wire is now complete. The human's blogging days are numbered!

HAVE A SUPER HALLOWEEN WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!!

I don't see anything wrong with that...so far we've gleefully managed to live in basements, so no trick-or-treaters for us!

Your poor brolly :(
Halloween grrrh. If I stock up on tons of sweet treats, what happens? no-one knocks! If I am poor and treat-less, it's constant hammering. I'm with you, I'm going to be out (but in)!
Charlie's going to take over the world one day soon I can see it now!

Means more candy for you and Charlie!

Don't feel badly, I live in Canada and I'm so NOT into Halloween. Can't understand how this has gotten out of hand and become the celebrated day it is. Sure, I went trick-or-treating as a kid, and sure I gave out candy too, for a number of years, but now I just can't be bothered. Now I'm one of those with the lights off on Halloween night. LOL.

Charlie, how can we visit you, albeit via cyber space, if you cut off your human's blogging? :-P

Well I certainly hope you have a great Halloween with no crossed pinkies!

ROFL!!! (That's the perfect time to curl up on your bed and watch a scary movie in your room!)

You're so cute, because I do the same thing, too! Or at least I try.

As trick-or-treaters, I don't go to homes with their porch lights off. It confuses me when they still come to my house.

:D

Halloween is not widely celebrated in Australia- but Crazy and I got some chocolates from the trick or treaters...

We are waiting for them to knock our door... and meanwhile- we are also 'tasting' them a bit.... err, I hope there's SOME left when they do knock out door!

You're so bah humbuging my favorite holiday! You need to get in the Halloween spirit.

I'm sorry about your brolly. Thanks to Talli Roland, I know what a brolly is.

Very wise! I love Halloween but we do mostly get very nice treat-seekers round here. (Or is that famous last words?) If you don't like it, it seems sensible to avoid it!

I'm sorry about the brolly and the getting wet.

Oh, and the clocks-go-back explanation is up on my blog as promised!

Hope you have as good day!

I suggest you record some ghostly noises and play them while you're walking about in the dark. That would be a very apt way of celebrating Halloween.

Wonderful poem! Mrs S has kept me in the dark for years, so I’d be OK on Halloween.

All the best, Boonie

Sorry to hear about your umbrella getting left behind on the train - no doubt someone is looking after it for you!
I must admit I do the same as you at Halloween - trick or treat was unheard of here until a few years ago and now here it is on top of Guy Fawkes night and the fireworks will last until about mid February making Hannah's life a misery as she won't be allowed out at night.
Moan over - mum feels better now!!

That sounds like a great idea to just shut off all the lights, lock the door and do whatever. Get lots of sleep.
Charlie, have you been messing with the computer?? Better be careful, those spooks will come get you.

Charlie, excellent work sabotagueing your Mom's brolly...and her computer!

Our Humans are going to give out halloween themed pencils and flashlights...they were quite the popular treats last year. We will be hiding in the closet and The Baby will be restrained in the spare room.

I'll tell you the truth, I wish I could do the same thing! But since my kids are TOTing, we have to be around. But after 8PM, the lights go out and we do the same thing so the older teenagers with no costume and bossy attitudes leave us alone.

I hope that we get lots of trick or treaters...other wise we are stuck with a lot of candy...UGH! It's always risky...some years you have virtually no kids and other years you have tons...

Enjoy your quiet night with Charlie!

I buy candy and give it out, but once it's gone, I turn out the lights and get about in the dark too...I am always glad when it's over=my kitties are spooked by all the loud kids and the constant doorbell ringing=I'm also glad to get rid of the candy so I don't eat it myself :)...(Not really a sweet eater, but on occasion, chocolate calls me :)!)...Hope you both have a great weekend, sweet friends...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki

Jen and I, and my Queen of Halloween daughter Stephanie, LOVE your comment on Steph's Halloween House!! Your comments should be collected. They're priceless.

And, say, guess what. I loved Halloween when I was a kid, but now in my declining years I have to admit I'm kind of bah humbug. We live in a small complex of no children and no one comes by, and my porch light is off, and...Now, how bad is that!

But then, I have to admit that I do kind of miss the trick or treating. Jen would enjoy seeing the children, only she's SO sick tonight with a miserable cold that it's just as well.

I just love your "pink brolly." And who does think straight!

Have a jolly weekend.
Ann

I do not blame you-I grew up in Canada and while I loved Halloween as a child-I do the same as an adult.

I don't get any trick or treaters in my building.

When I did in the past, I ignored them. Who needs to be answering the door every few minutes?

Jackee said...

If you don't want to celebrate, totally understandable. I live so far out that no one comes out to trick or treat anyway and I take the kids into town for what we call "trunk" or treating, with a parking lot walk through for candy. :o)

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Operation trip wire. LOL. Brilliant.

I used to live in a road full of children and would do the same as you and hide. Then one year I decided to get into the spirit of things and never looked back. To see the childrens' faces as they did tricks and you offered treats - priceless!

The road I live in now is full of old people and nobody calls :(

I understand why you would hide from the trick or treaters as well but after doing the same for several years I decided to join in on the fun this year. I don't like the relentless ringing of the doorbell or the fact that some children aren't children at my doorstep but I love the fact that many are simply just having fun and enjoying putting their inhibitions aside for the day.

We once had a black cat that spent every Halloween cowering under the couch. So much for the witches and black cat theories.

I think I saw your brolly hooked over the back of a chair behind Charlie. Ha. That was before you got on the train. You'll have company hiding out. Me too. Although nary a kid in our neighborhood.

Happy Halloween . You made me laugh.

LOL! We actually had less "Trick or Treat" children this year and have left over candy for the first time in years. I think many children went to a Halloween party today instead.

Nothing wrong w/ turning off the lights, not bah humbug at all.

Like the poem & Charlie does look like he's very busy!
