Monday's Mystery

Yes bloggie friends, it’s Old Kitty’s Mystery Plant Monday! LOL!

Or “What the heck is that?!”

As always I’ve lost the label as this was a bulb I planted two years ago and this year it’s turned out to be this weird and ever so wonderful creature!

What say you fab bloggie friends?

Charlie says: I like how you use pics of me or your silly plants when you run out of interesting things to say in your blog.

Have a manic Monday everyone!

That's a pretty tropical looking plant. I have no idea, but I think your garden is looking good. How's your sunflower?

Your post was short and sweet.

Have a great week!

Now that I don't know. It reminds me of succulent-type plants that grow in arid climates, like agaves. But I don't think they grow from bulbs. Hope someone can enlighten us. x

I've never seen anything like it, but I'm sure one or more of your followers will know.

Charlie knows a picture is worth 1000 words. :-)

Have a lovely Monday! No moving this week for you, I hope. LOL.

It's quite phallic, isn't it? hehe! I'm so mature, I know.

Sorry - not much of a help!

Hi Kitty, looks like a Eucomis or Pineapple Lily to me.

You sound as good as I am at labelling things.

Yikes that is an interesting looking plant. I'm afraid I'm not much use when it comes to naming plants!

I have no CLUE what it is, but can assure you Dr. Suess is responsibel. That is the kind of thing I wish MY garden had, though as you are in a temperate zone, and Michigan might as well be tundra, I hold little hope that the bulb is hearty enough. (love the Charlie sprawl!)

You are having a lovely stretch in the sunshine Charlie - it looks so good. Mum doesn't know what the plant is either.

Jackee said...

Oh, wow! Is it a yucca of some kind? A monocot?

Too cool! And I disagree, Charlie. :o) That is a very interesting post. (Ha, ha.)

It's most definitely a Triffid. Run away!

Oh it feels like we haven't visited with you in forever - I hate getting so behind. I have no clue what that plant is - my only guess is "plant".

Hi Charlie - we think that lots of pictures of you is a great idea, even if it is just because she can't think of what to write (imagine how hard it is for those of us who do most of our writing about our cats - when I can't think of what to write, I don't have any sort of fall-back!)

Hi Charlie
We liked how you reclined on the sunny area outside your house.

Wish we could offer you a suggestion on the plant. We think it is furry pretty, but don't know what it is.

Hi Old Kitty,
I've seen this plant before but don't know the name. It's this a plant that has some air-filled flowers that pop when you squeeze them? Nice pic, Charlie ;)

I have no clue but it sure is an odd one! I love Charlie's pose in this picture. Don't cats make you envious some times?

This didn't arrive in my blog reader! And today there's no post at all.

I hope everything's OK with you, Kitty!

Its one of a kind...i.e i'm clueless about plants! Looks like one of those little rock plants with a mind of its own fell in love with the sun!

Ann said...

Sorry I can't be of any help to you in identifying the plant. It is interesting looking though.

Tell Charlie not to be so cheeky!

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

Oh my..what is that? I guess it is some sort of flower that is going to seed?

Charlie knows how to stretch...ah, that feels good!

Looks a little too tropical for my part of the country. I don't have a clue what it is but It's a wonderful addition to your garden. I'll bet Charlie knows but he ain't telling.

It's a Triffid!

Ever read DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS by John Wyndham? It's even set in England. Intelligent plants learn to move and attack humans.

Better watch out, Charlie!

Have a great end of week, Roland
