The Great Unwashed

Bloggie friends I am sad.

I’ll be offline most of today.

We are having a mega move at work and my cry of “I’m an artist, damn it”! won’t be cutting any ice with the powers that be.

Nor would “what about my nails?!?!”

Or “this is so not in my contract”!

So please spare a thought for my inner diva as I don my baggy t-shirt, unwashed jeans, big trainers and protective gloves and lug crates and boxes and push trollies laden with things here there and everywhere.

It’s called cost-cutting.

I hope to visit you all very soon! Probably not today though. :-(

Charlie says: I've sprinkled some of my furs on your jeans too. They add authenticity.

Have a wistful Wednesday everyone!

I love baggy t-shirts and big trainers, Kitty. I wear them when I clean, too. Which means I wear them a lot! Good luck on the move. I'm thinking of sending Danny boy over to cook you dinner.

Oh no, manual labor??? What's the world coming to? Good job of furring Charlie!

Charlie is wise not to get involved any further than that, too!

Even though you've commented on my last post, I missed you today!

How unfair nobody at work cares about your attire or manicure. Sniff.

I hope you came home, drank a nice cup of tea, and had a kitty on your lap.

How far did you move?

Bend at the knees, Jennifer... Advice given from someone who has moved too much stuff this summer and NOT bent the right way...or at least that's what the chiro says...

That's sweet of Charlie to help your jeans get even more authentic looking! :)

Too bad about having to do hard work. At least you're wearing gloves which will help. & it should only be this 1 time...right?

Gah! Manual labor? Didn't that fad die out in the nineteenth century? sick and wrong, my friend...sick and wrong.

Doesn't sound like much of a day to look forward to, hope you get through it in one piece.

I had to do the furniture removal thing when I worked in a school and it sucks - so you have my sympathy.

At least Charlie's hair on your jeans will remind you of his support. Yeah, right.

Hope you have a better day than you're expecting.

Boy, that really is cost-cutting if you have to do the move yourselves.

Good luck, remember to bend from your knees, don't put your back out. LOL.

Poor Jenn... So you have noticed too how the whole world turns so inconsiderate about not wanting to ruin manicured nails?!

Ellie Garratt said...

Well how inconsiderate of them. I think you should make your inner diva part of your contract!

Ugh. I hate office moving - you're bringing back some very bad memories. :)

Good luck Old Kitty!

Hi Charlie,

It is our cat duty to always put some fur on our humans clothes, that way they will always take a piece of us with them.

Your nails, noooo!

Hope the move goes well. I remember having to do something similar a couple of years ago, so can sympathise.

I sympathise. Two weeks ago I was on my knees, covered in dust, as I moved from one area, to another, and then back again. (I did get lovely new office furniture though.)

Watch out for those nails!

Have you noticed that white cats leave hairs on dark things and black cats on pale things - I have a feeling I might have said this before! With Newton we had the worst of both worlds as he was about equal black/white. Sorry about your cost-cutting and move - hope things settle down soon and you can all recover. xx

My husband has had to move his office from time to time in his career, but after he packed up all the boxes with his belongings professional movers came in to move them. I hope that was the case with you!
