Chemistry

Bloggie friends, thank you for your kind reassurances and words for yesterday’s post. I feel most comforted, thank you!

Still reeling from that guess what I did today? I go to the chemist to collect my repeat prescriptions. And this is what happens next.

Chemist man: How do you pay for your prescriptions?
Me: With this.
Chemist man: Your library card?

Yes bloggie friends, I am holding out my brand spanking new library card from Hertfordshire libraries because it feels and looks like my credit card.

Yes it does.

Charlie says: You crazy, me cat.

Have a wispy Wednesday, everyone!

WOW and Double WOW! I just read yesterday's post. The things you don't know about...crazy stuff goes on out there.
I hope you feel better soon. Oh and by the way, my 15 year old just read your stories, I printed them so I didn't have to read them at once. He loved them and I did give you ALL the credit...LOL He thought I wrote them and he said. Mom, I didn't know you could write that good....I started smiling and said. It's not me...It's you and so on and so fourth...he said...OH, I should have thought that because they were really good and when on earth did I fit writing in too! LOL
Have a great Wednesday my friend!

LOL! I can't claim to have mixed up my library card with my debit card, but my debit card and mastercard are the same colour (and same bank) and I have gotten those mixed up. Easy to do.

Big smooches to handsome Charlie!

You should have told him you just wanted them for 2 weeks and you would return them! Smile Charlie!

Ha! You're funny. And adorable. And I WISH my library card would pay for stuff. ;)

Love,
Lola

Was he impressed that you had a brand spanking new library. Library cards should get you into exclusive clubs and get us discounts on all sorts of items and services.

Just don't start paying for your library books with your credit card. It defeats the purpose of borrowing.

I just read your yesterday's post about your debit card. Wow. We do have to be careful. I don't use mine much and only for "secure" places. But you never know for sure what can happen.

Hey, a library card is safer!! lol

Jen and I wish you a safe, happy Wednesday.

My poor mother does that all the time, but the clerk at our local Walmart is not nearly as nice as your pharmasist.

I shall enjoy my wispy Wed, thank you so much.

Well. I'm hoping the chemist is NOT expecting you to "return" his wares.
You know, it's all downhill from here...

Hahaha, don't you wish we could pay for our medicine with a library card? And everything else too, like food and clothes. Heck yeah, let the library pay for everything!

Now that one was hard to beat! Charlie needs to make sure you got the right card in your hands!

LOL, well what I'm curious about is whether or not he accepted library credit for payment. You have a dazzling day as well.

I am always doing stuff like that, glad I am not alone.

Heehee... OK, it wasn't the library card, but I once tried to pay with my work ID! :-) You'll be back to fine fettle soon... just relax, hon!

Well, I hope they accepted it!

I love your blog, Old Kitty!

It's like the time I was trying to pay the vet with my medicare card... It's okay Jenn, at least you did a very good job of making us all laugh :D

In Canada, we have a hardware store called Canadian Tire that rewards purchases with Canadian Tire bills to be used ONLY at Canadian Tire. The bills have a similar consistency to real bills, and Mom was red-faced once when she mistakenly tried to use one of the bills at the grocery store. She was politely told that those bills weren't valid there, but she could tell that the clerk was laughing at her behind her polite smile. She definitely understands how your Mum feels, Charlie

LOL. What did he say?!

Thanks for the laugh - I do things like that all the time - on purpose of course!!

Oh dear. Just caught up on yesterday's post too. It's not fun when you're identity is hacked like that but the whole ex thing must have added to it all. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Surely they should accept library cards though. Mine has a nice picture of a robot on it.

Hi, just a little update, after you posted a comment on my post today, I updated it to say my story, The Irish Poet, was selected for the long list for stories for Pakistan,
thank you, because it was on your site I saw it and just sent it in on time.

I love love love my libary card. It is the only thing in my wallet that never betrays me. Even the pictures of my children periodically betray me, but not that library card...

(love the story)

What are you going to try and take your library books out with?! I'm so immensely reassured reading about other people who do things like I do, it makes me feel much less alone xx

Wouldnt it be lovely if it worked!
I often get offered medical cards and credit cards instead of the library card... so it swings both ways ,as they say!

I've done the exact same thing, Jen! Now I keep my library card in a different section of my wallet so I don't have to be embarrassed again :0)
