By the light of the silvery moon

Bloggie friends the 23rd September 2010 saw the full moon on the same night as the fall equinox!

And this phenomenon won’t be seen again until 2029!!!!

What does it all mean?

I have no idea! LOL!

But it just sounds ever so mysterious and grand!! And slightly spooky.

Here is my attempt at showing you this same full moon outside my home:

Charlie says: It means bath time!

And here is a link that may shed some light on this phenomenon.

Have a fortunate Friday everyone!

It's raining here tonight, we are not sure we will see a silver, white or ever harvest moon.

Hello Charlie.

You post the most interesting things EVERY DAY. You're incredible.

I followed the link. Now I know exactly what equinox and harvest moon means.

And your photograph is gorgeous. (So are you, Charlie, though maybe not quite as shiny! lol)

Have a shining tomorrow. Love from me and Jen.

If I were a woofie I would be howling at it, but I'm not, so I guess I'll use Charlie's idea. It is pretty though and you did good with the pic!

Good thinking! I didn't even think of that! I like Charlie's wisdom, he has a very dry since of humor! LOL

Hmm... that is an interesting phenomenom! Is it why my puggie has been acting like a jerk every night this week, only allowing me four hours of sleep a night?? lol

I looked at the moon too that night. It was big and bright...and a short while later it rained.
Charlie, you are so clean, brighter than the moon.

I think Charlie's got the right idea. Moon and water are a good mix, especially if you're outside.

I always loved a full moon... There is a strange kind of softness in the moonlight, it's very touching. I do love sunlight too, but moonlight has a different kind of charm, I always thought.

Glad you got to see the full moon. We missed it :D.

Lovely picture and Charlie has the right idea.

That is a great shot of the moon we think. Sure glad to have that info about the equinox.
Charlie, we sure are glad you are staying clean.
Have a super week end.

It's the end of the world I tell you! Oh, wait, no. It doesn't really mean anything, that's it. Pretty though.

Oh. . .we couldn't see it because of cloud cover. Still I'm glad you did!

Nice picture of the full moon last night - we had a thunderstorm with torrential rain so the only light we got was lightning!!
Charlie is washing again - he keeps his whites very white!

Which means EVERYBODY should have gotten mooned last night, yes? I didn't realize the equinox fell late this year--It's probably good I didn't or I would have resented my daughter being double booked and me being required to chauffer all night...

I DID though, finish my 'read' for my edit, so now I can start on the big (more satisfying) version--the one where I make big CHANGES rather than just reading and taking notes all all the stupid mistakes and missteps...

We totally missed the full moon! We can't even remember if the skies were cloudy. LOL.

Anyway, we hope it means good luck and health and fortune and happiness--that's what we hope it means! :-)

Hmmm...

I wonder why Charlie links "bath" to a "full mom cum fall equinox"?
Probably because the next one is
19 years from now???

Hheheheheeheh - I thought you liked bathing Charlie!

Yes, Jenn posts very interesting stuff on a daily basis!!!

Charlie doesn't care...

I actually saw it last night while it was bright orange, which is why they call it the harvest moon.

Ah, I KNEW there was a reason why I haven't been sleeping well!

I noticed the full moon out this morning, pale against the blue sky. Beautiful to see during the daytime. :)

Oh I love full moon, Old Kitty! You wouldn't believe it but I've got dates of the full moon for the whole year on my information board at home! LOL. I think I was made to believe that it's a powerful night when it's full moon...but I did not see this on 23rd...it's been raining here! Well, anyway, I love your moon photo so that's good enough for me :) Thanks for sharing :)

I saw the moon on my way into work at 615am. Although the moon is beautiful, to me it means I will be very busy. I was right. Sigh.

I have not been able to see the moon since Tuesday. We have rain pelting down here, with flash flood warnings and people having to use canoes if they leave their houses just ten miles away. Thankfully the two rivers we are situated between have risen but not to that extent.

So having laid all that on your comment bar, I just want to say, thank you for the photo. At least I now don't feel like I totally missed out! A big hugh Thank you!!! :)

Great pics....and we agree with Charlie...it means it's bath time. Mama says it means it just won't happen again until 2029!!!!!!!

We're happy she's not superstitious.....especially our blackhole, Sammy!!!!!!! MOL

A full moon AND the fall equinox and I missed it? And it won't happen again for 29 years (when I'll be 39). I can't believe it! I saw it the night before and the night after.

Why can ordinary cameras take photos of the moon that look as spectacular as the ones we see in real life? Last year on Halloween, the moon was gorgeous, but it came out like a yellow blur.

But you always photo Charlie well.

Happy weekend!

Hoho! I missed this fun fact to know and tell. Everyone at work commented about how weird things had been on Thursday and now we know why! Enhanced lunacy! LOL!

Hey, great picture of the moon. Banana and I were a little weird that night too. We could not settle down! And Banana just wanted to eat all night.
