Love and Hate

Hate is such a strong potent negative word isn't it? So here is a competition to channel all that rage! LOL!

"All you need to do is tell... in exactly 140 characters (including spaces and punctuation) why you hate TWITTER. Entries in the body of an email... to danny@wordswithjam.co.uk." From Words With Jam magazine (Aug.2012 edition)

Closing date 5th of September. Erm.. you win mugs! LOL!

Now love is a beautiful thing! Unconditional love even more precious and of course y'all seen the pic of John Unger cradling his 19 year old dog Schoep in Lake Superior. Schoep suffers from painful arthritis and the water's warmth helps.

Every time I stare at this shot, my emotions bubble over and I am overwhelmed with memories of my angels at the Bridge and the trauma and profound love we went through in our last months together.

Charlie says: I sleep in this heat.

Pic taken yesterday evening.

Have a great week! I shall be off line for most of this week but I shall catch up with all of you asap!

I don't hate twitter, but I do love that Charlie pic! We'll be missing you!

I don't need 140 words to tell everyone how I dislike twitter. Never got into that site

As they say, the opposite of love isn't hate, its indifference. I say, ignore Twitter and maybe it will go away. Have a great week! Purrs!

Charlie looks so peaceful that I envy him. He says, "Hey, I envy you your teeth!" :-)

I read twitters where folks every message is "Buy My Stuff!" Or I read others tell me what they are having to eat.

Sigh. I wish them well. Ah, actually I wish them a life! Have a good time offline. Roland

Hi Charlie and his Mummy,
Charlie you look good. I think you are right. I hate having to sleep somewhere very very cold, and I love to sleep.

Love and hate are the strongest emotions in the spectrum if you ask me. Love is basically anti-hate and hate is anti-love. I would rather be loved than hated though.

But what if I don't hate twitter? Some of my best friends are there... purrs

Hope you have a great week! Sometimes being offline is the best thing. And what a hilarious contest. :D

Poor Charlie is such a puffball, so the heat is extra hard on him, I'm sure!

I don't know if I could get worked up enough about Twitter to win, but I'd love to have a look at the entries!

Have a wonderful off-line week, whatever you're doing.

What a sweet photo of the "dad" and his dog, and what a loving dad he is! I'll be forwarding it to lots of people.

Charlie looks good too. Have a great time off.

Where can we get that John Unger, along with his pooch?

Charlie, you look positively delicious!!!

I can't look at that picture without crying. Such love there. And the memories it evokes. They just aren't here with us for long enough.

Indy sleeps the heat away too - I think that is a very wise thing to do.
Take care xx

I think Charlie is right to sleep in this heat - pretty much what I feel like doing (except I have to go to work and they expect me to stay awake)

I don't do Twitter, but I think that's a brilliant competition. :-)

I also don't do FB, so hadn't seen that photo. Now that definitely is unconditional love and beautiful beyond words.

It's odd, isn't it, how most "love" between humans comes with conditions, but love for a non-human companion truly is unconditional.

That photo probably will be the very best thing of my day; thank you.

Awh such a wonderful photo of the dog and his loving owner.

Charlie is such a sweetie! My Tarragon would agree with his decision wholeheartedly, though Borage likes to play in the cool shadow of the trees.

Have a great week away from Blogland.

Oh, Charlie. You look so comfy in that bed.

Old Kitty, thanks for mentioning the photo of John Unger and his dog, Schoep. Now that's a love story.

That's a fun contest! :)

That dog story reminds me just how many great people there are in this world. Have a good week! :)

I'm with Charlie - the heat is a bit too much for me and I've become very soporific.

And oh, that photo of the dog in the lake makes me tear up.

the teacher's pets said...

I don't use Twitter very much but when I do I really don't see the point as it takes up too much time that I could be using elsewhere!
I have seen the photo of the dog as he is cradled by his owner and I think it is a picture of true love.
I can certainly understand why you would be so overwhelmed with tears as you photographed Charlie and I'm sure he feels the same way about you!

Summer Ross said...

Thanks for the link to the contest. Sounds fun. Sleep well Charlie!

Hart Johnson said...

Ha! Fun contest. I hate twitter...

And I love that dog shot, but DO have a correction... Lake Superior is bloody COLD!!! It's huge and clear north... Now it is warmer this year than MOST... because we had a comparatively mild winter. But warmer is relative...

Luna said...

That contest sounds like fun! I haven't seen that pic yet, but will have to check it out. Is it going to make me cry?

Hope you and Charlie have a lovely week! Take care...:)

Carol Kilgore said...

I have seen that photo of the man and his dog. It makes me tear up. Our pets are our family. And just as dear whether human, canine, feline, or other.

joanne fox said...

I've seen that photo on Facebook. Lovely isn't it.

I hate Twitter so much that I can't even summon the energy to play the 140 characters game. (And it's also very hot here!)

cleemckenzie said...

Thanks for the hate channeling opportunity. I'll get on that after I take a nap. Charlie gave me the idea that the best way to get through tough times is to stretch out and snooze. Thanks, Charlie.

Lydia Kang said...

Have a good week! I saw that article on Unger. So sweet!

Anonymous said...

Charlie has the right idea. Taking naps is a great way to beat the heat.

How truly wonderful to see an owner take such good care of their dog. I see such mistreatment of animals in Mexico.

That sounds like fun competition :-)
Yes love is very beautiful thing! I feel unconditional love for my two kitties and other kitties who are at the Brigde now. They are so innocent and pure and so deserve love!

Marilia said...

Have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

meowmeowmans said...

How amusingly ironic that the "why I hate Twitter" contest is bound by the 140-character rule of Twitter. Fun!

We saw that picture of John Unger and Schoep, too. Beautiful.

Hope you're both well. Have a great snooze, Charlie! :)

It's good to see Charlie resting so contentedly!

My friend lost her faithful dog last week to illness and has been so sad. It is so hard to lose a pet. Our pets are our family and we love them as surely as we do a person.

I am not a Twitter lover, but I do use it when necessary!

Katie Isabella said...

I saw that loving picture and it made me recall my babies who have gone on to the Bridge as well. The love and agony of hope and wishing that they would just please be healed and the sweet ness of the ties when they did feel better. They are family and that wonderful photo showed it so well what beloved pets mean to us.

Hi Old Kitty,
Um, follow me on "Twitter"? No, oops...:)
And the unconditional, non judgemental love that is bestowed upon us by our animal friends are lessons humans could learn from.
See ya, eh

That picture turned up here in the last few days in the papers. It's beautiful.

Charlie thinks that 140 character limits can't express a purr properly.

mshatch said...

What a lovely picture. That dog is very fortunate!

And Charlie looks mahvelous and cool all stretched out. I suspect he's a lucky fellow, too ;)

Saku said...

Two very beautiful pictures! I think loving our pets is so easy because they love us so unconditionally.

I don't know enough about Twitter to say I hate it, but I do have a question. What does one call someone who tweets on Twitter, a twit or a twitterer? I think that alone is enough to keep me from bothering with it!

Anonymous said...

I don't really hate Twitter - I just don't understand it. It feels a bit like walking into a loud and crowded party when you don't know anyone and you've got your ear-plugs in.

The Furries of Whisppy said...

Mommy doesn't Tweet coz she says she just can't think of what to say every couple of hours. :)
We love that picture of Charlie. He looks so at ease and happy.

wildcatwoods said...

It was a lovely shot of John and his dog - very emotional. Give Charlie a big hug from all of us!!! (And you too)

I missed the story on John Unger. I'll have to look it up--I'm sure it'll make me cry! Have a wonderful week!

Yeah... I think I'm going to need more than 140 words to describe why I dislike Twitter.

I don't hate twitter, butvI don't spend a lot of time there. I do love Charlie though - he always looks so affectionate.

And that photo of Schoep really does tug at the tears.

Look at Charlie being so relaxed and cuddly! Can you believe my kitty Flower was actually SNORING yesterday??? LOL!

Ahh, Twitter. I don't exactly HATE it so much as I just don't get it. Whatever.

Hope you're doing fabulous, dahling~ <3

Twitter scares me. But 140 words is great practice at "use less words" as we are taught. :o) I'm so happy to have a moment to comment on your blog. I've missed you! Have a great week, Jenn.

Hey Mr. Old Kitty!! How have you been! Thanks for dropping in on your old friend! I see you still have a cazillion replies..I get the biggest kick on that! Anyhow, hate is a horrible word and in my home we have to say "dislike immensely"!! Have a great day and I'm glad you are all fine :)
