Reading Sunflowers

Brilliant Bloggie Friends – thank you once again for your lovely and encouraging comments about my little third prize win! Thank you!! You are all colours of the rainbow!

The stories are now up on the site here if you want to have a read. Incidentally my other story - The Last Shift - is a runner up too, yay!

And if you want a lovely fun scene, may I offer this?

It's a wonderful sight on my walk to and from the train station.

I hope they brighten your day as they do mine.

Charlie says: I thought I did that already!

Poor Charlie - I think I was too close to his face with my flashy thing! Oh dear!

Have a spiffing Sunday everyone!

Just read your story, I love it, so seductive!
Like an apple itself, delicous bite by bite, line by line, till the crunch at the end. The rising tension was so well worked into the story. Thanks for posting the link. excellant writing - congratulations on your well deserved win!

Those sunflowers are terrific. And poor Charlie had to close his eyes from the flashy thing. But Charlie you do look terrific. Have a good day.

Very nice story, Jenny! And sunflowers always cheer me up, too, though my VERY favorite sunflower image was an ambitious squirrel backing up a tree, dragging a whole sunflower head *snicker*

Hi Jenny, just read your story - very clever! Tempting Eve, the apple - I didn't see it coming until the end, which is the whole point of a short story. And you had some lovely turns of phrase (turns of phrases?!) - I can see you'll be getting top prize in no time at all. Fab! Ginger and Abigail send sympathies to Charlie as well, they too have an owner who can be a bit trigger happy with her flash. :)

That's a wonderful story - full of colour and well shaped - a real sunflower of a story!

I liked the way that the ending felt like the start of another story.

I reckon you should have won first prize.Well done!

Funny twist at the end! I'd appreciate it even more than most. You really set the scene well. I could picture them, the neighborhood. Just enough backstory. Well done!

I just read the story & was really taken w/ how well you do dialogue & I really got a feeling for the greengrocers! The twist at the end was so cute & made me laugh.

You're a very talented writer & I look forward to reading more short stories.

Now Charlie, you keep encouraging her to write, ok? :)

We are going to let our Mom read your story (our reading skills aren't that great), but we're sure she'll enjoy it!

Charlie, we understand how awful it is to have the flash right in your face, but you managed to remain calm and handsome. Well done!
