Slash n Burn n Bake!

Get thee behind me Chapter 4!

I’m slashing and burning my current manuscript – because by jingo it needs it. I’ve never realised just how much it needs it . It is so a Grade 2. Hah!

Bloggie friends I did get to see the doctor and he mentioned that maybe my monthly viral illness is symptomatic of something hormonal (me: Eh?).

Further tests are warranted. Watch this space is all I can say. Or actually, no, as this ailment is the most boring thing on this planet to blog about. Next to my novel massacree! Yes massa-cree! LOL!

Far more interesting is this cake!!

Thank you lovely Emma of Em’s Shabby Shack for this AMAZING and ABSOLUTELY YUMMY Courgette Cake recipe.

It's not only SUPER EASY it is DELICIOUS. I didn’t do the icing but to be honest it didn’t need it.

I plan to bake some more asap!

Charlie says: Whoopie. I’m so excited. Can’t wait. And no it’s not in my nature to be sarcastic at all. No siree. Not me. Nuh-uh.

Have a sweet n sensible Sunday everyone!

Wow! It takes some type of bravery to admit your manuscript isn't up to par, let alone have the grit to fix/cut/burn it without anyone else telling you that's what it needs. I guess we all need to be our toughest critic sometimes. I hope your story survives.

Oh, it's zucchini! I've never heard the word "courgette" before, had to Google. We know it by "zucchini." It looks yummy!

Your virus is hormonal? Huh? *Cluing in*...oh, it's an every month thing? Yuck. I mean, bad enough to have the eggs in the first place, IMO. LOL. I'm waiting for all of mine to hurry up and die off but they aren't cooperating quite yet.

Hurrah for the editing! You are flying along, so to speak, in spite of illness. Congrats!

Big smooches to Charlie; no, of course a cat never would be sarcastic. Heh.

Cats have a way of bringing us down to reality, don't they?

I'll help myself to a bit of that cake if you don't mind.

A very special Sunday to you too!

Oh, dear Old Kitty. That's tragic about your manuscript, but it does happen to all of us.

And so do hormones. Jen can tell you all about this. She's in hormone h double Q a lot. Miserable hot flashes along with the pain in her bad foot. And low thyroid that we think the doctor goofed up on this last time around with medication. It's been rough. Sometimes she just wants to give up on planet earth.

We do hope you can get help!

We're having the end of a peaceful Saturday, though, the weather having cooled down. I took her to the grocery store; she did enjoy that. And we're looking forward to a peaceful Sunday, hopefully in church, that we hope you enjoy too.

Courgette? Is this what us Yanks call a zucchini?

Ah, the 40's...when your ovaries sputter and gasp (read: crap out) and all the "fun" begins...heh heh. Charlie, gird your loins and prepare yourself!

I saw a t-shirt the other day that reminded me of my husband, but that also seems quite right for Charlie; it said: Sarcasm is just one of my many fine qualities.

Luckily for Charlie, adorable is another of his qualities!

Hope your novel massacre goes well, though I'm quite sure it's not a grade 2 quality work. :)

Slashing and burning through your manuscript - what a visual. Even when you're sick, you're being so productive. Yay, you!

I'm sorry about the tests. Keep us posted. I really hope you are better soon.

I've missed pictures of your baked goods.

Tell Charlie I want more tail shots.

I hope you're doing okay with the viral illness!

Slash and burn? Or do you mean shred and delete? I've done that with a few manuscripts.

Have a great weekend.

The old slash and burn technique. You're very brave! But if your instincts are telling you it isn't working, go for it!

Hormonal virus? It might not be what you want to hear, but if that will mean giving you something to end it, hooray.

Courgette cake? Yum, yum.

Old Kitty, I am getting cross with you.

Stop putting yourself and your writing down. I've read your work. You have talent. Now stop it.

Oh dear Jenn is it that time of your life - pretty grotty but after about a million years you do feel better!! Charlie we think you should be kind to your mum while she's sick.
Hope you feel better about your manuscript now you've started some fierce weeding out.

Sending you positive thoughts for your health!

OK, I thought you were making bread out of Corgi Dogs. Glad to hear it's zucchini (though I am sure Corgis are delicious too.)

Charlie--Would you like to come vacation with me? I think we could have a good time sleeping in new places.

Oh, man, that cake makes my mouth water just by looking at the picture! Good luck massacree-ing your WIP. I hope the tests show what's wrong soon!

Have a great week, Jenn and Charlie. :o)

I like cake but I'm not so sure about the courgettes...

Good luck with the MS! I'm sure you'll banish that Grade 2 in no time.

I have heard of humans having mortgage burnings but you might be the first one to have a manuscript burning. Sounds like the makings of an online pawty! Howdy Charlie!

That cake does look good. I don't see how Charlie can be so indifferent about it!
