Help! I'm a Muse - get me out of here!

Hello all, Old Kitty’s Muse here.

I thought I would take over her blog for today seeing as she is so poorly and frankly in need of a good scrub, a wash and I daresay, a thorough fumigation.

Bring on the vapours and wear your anti-swine flu masks!

As a Muse none of the above should really matter but she tries my patience continuously. I give her all the inspiration to stimulate her creative juices and she is still none the wiser with her creative writing as she ages and wrinkles.

Worse, her creative output is - to put it mildly – ATROCIOUS!

I look around me and all my sister muses are glowing with their charges who are winning competitions, working on their nth novel, getting published left right and centre, are tall, thin and gorgeous!

No ! That shouldn’t matter! But do you see why I despair? Now even she’s got me flicking through the latest issues of Grazia, Hello! and OK magazines. Ew.

And as for that cat…

Charlie says: One is not a-mused.

[Lovely Sally Quilford is having a Takeover Blog Day today – where creatures take over one’s blog and wreak havoc and mayhem! This is my shoddy entry! LOL! I blame the Muse]

Have a whacky Wednesday everyone!

Well, Jennifer's Muse, we think her creative output actually is excellent. Let's remember she did take bronze in the Twisted Tails story competition!

As for tall, thin, and gorgeous--eventually even plastic surgery and silicone cannot keep up with the ravages of time. Besides, who wants to eat [clean] toilet paper to feel full, instead of real food? (So we've heard, though that could be an urban myth.)

Charlie is above such human nonsense, this is true. Smart Charlie. Smooches to him! We hope Jenn is feeling better today--since she's been sick, Muse, we think it only fair of you to cut her some slack.

Just our $0.02!

Sorry to hear Old Kitty is under the weather. Tell her to just curl up with a book and get well. No worries!

Well I think ya done good!!! Hope Mom feels better really, really soon!

Muse, she just won a contest. Why are you being so hard on the poor, sick girl? Be happy you're not my muse. You'd have a complex.

I hope your swine flu is improving. Feel better soon.

By the way, I love the wreaking havoc on blogs idea.

Don't be such a naughty muse - it's all your fault anyway, so no blaming the nice writer who is hard at work!

(Just for fun, here's a post I wrote about my own muse - http://thisisnotnotmydayjob.blogspot.com/2009/08/what-muse-says-goes.html)

You are SO creative. I love this takeover thing and will read some of the others later. I clicked on the link. Thank you for it! Wish I had the time and energy to do this, but I'm still knee deep in revisions on my book; and as of yesterday I'm also editing a book, that's under contract and in its final stages, for a friend.

You must GET WELL SOON. Jen & I do hope you're feeling better today.

Naughty Muse! Get off your arse and give your Gal some inspiration! Who gave you permission to join the whiney Greek Chorus, anyway? I think Charlie has the right to widdle on you if you don't straighten up.
There. I told you.

MomKat Trish

pee ess: Jenn, I loved your stories!

No wonder Charlie is not a-mused.

Hey, Muse! Don't be so hard on Kitty! She's doing just great.

And Kitty, I hope you get better soon. It's the wrong time of year to get the dreaded lurgy and I'm sorry you're suffering with it.

Mwah to Charlie.

Charlie, you are a very capable cat.
While you are tapping away doing your blogpost, you could be springcleaning the flat for your lovely mistress.
And put on the chicken soup, sounds like Old Kitty has the virus I had before hols, tell her she needs some sea air!

Wow. There are plenty of cats in these comments. And if I have to fight them one by one, then I shall.

Hey Muse, I read Jennifer's entries in the short story competition and they were great. She isn't feeling well, give her a break.

Charlie, make Kitty a Lemsip!

Feel better soon.

Hello, Jennifer's Muse. I can't agree with you - I think her creative output is just fine. Now stop picking on her when she's feeling poorly, and go back to your muse-hole or whatever it's called!

Bring back Kitty!

I just read a bronze-winning entry and a runner-up a few days ago, so I know her creative output is actually quite high! And please give her some chicken soup and tell her we hope she feels better very soon. :)

Goodness, I'd sack that pesky muse. Do give credit where it's due (and well done on the comp placings Kitty!)

A lovely addition to Blog Takeover Day. Thanks Kitty (and Muse even if you are a bit hard on her!)

I think you're being really hard on her, Muse.

Hope your human feels better soon. Who are these tall, thin, gorgeous people, by the way? You Muses are so picky sometimes!

Hannah and Lucy said...

Hey Muse - we thought you were supposed to be constructive not destructive - get your act together and then a nice cool drink for Jenn please.
Charlie - smooth the bed clothes and get a wet wipe for Jenn's fevered brow.
Hope you soon feel better.

teehee--Have some PATIENCE Muse! (though being a little familiar with muses, I do know that doesn't come easily) and DON'T abandon Jenny!

We continue to purr that Jenn will be feeling better soon...and we also think she is very talented and we loved her stories.

Charlie, we think you've done a brilliant job as a muse!!!!!!!

We love both of ya.......

Muse, you shouldn't pick on that ole Kitty. She is very sick and can't help herself. We think her writing is quite good and shouldn't be picked upon. Good boy Charlie for not being amused. Take good care of Jenn.

Sounds like your Muse is one tough cookie - tell her to ease up on ya!

I think you're a far better muse than mine, so if you fancy a change you're more than welcome to come and help me.

Love Charlie's photo. What a handsome chap he is.

Grazia is a good magazine, Old Kitty's Muse, so you need to give her a break! Come on!

Elizabeth Mueller said...

*hugs* There may be tall, thin, gorgeous writers out there, but it's what's inside that counts. A writer's passion shows through her work and how she lives.

Jennifer's fans will see right through that as long as you keep her thought churning with interesting things to write--do don't ever abandon her cause there's an epidemic out there of Muses leaving their writers.

Be good to yourself AND your Old Kitty.

:)
