So today, let’s talk names bloggie friends!
I nearly trip over this little boy who decided it was fun to sit on a step in the middle of a moving escalator.
His name? Erasmus - as in “Get off that step, Erasmus, I mean it!” from his mum.
Erasmus! How unusual is that name?
Next, I’m taking down a phone message for my boss. The guy on the other line tells me his name.
“It’s Scott,” he says, “with a double tee then Sherman, as in the tank. Scott Sherman.”
Gerrit? Sherman Tank??
Charlie says: It is time to get out and write more bad poetry.

Why does Erasmus sound so familiar? Apparently the common Danish first name Rasmus is a contraction of "Erasmus". Also, Erasmus Darwin was a physician, poet and grandfather of Charles Darwin. How's that for some trivia? lol

Erasmus is an odd name, especially on a kid. But we all have to start somewhere, I guess.
I have also heard some unusual names lately. I think everyone is trying to name their children unique and different names. Probably their children will grow up and want their children to be Mary and John :)

Where I live, there are indeed some unusual names! And Charlie can write poetry any time.
Those are some really funny names.
But, why would anyone want to stop following your site? The only thing I can think of is that they moved to Wordpress or something, or they lost their email account. I look forward to seeing what Charlie is up to everyday.

I get so confused when people tell me how to spell their name using words like that: B as in boy, E as in earth, C as in cake.... bla bla bla. I'm still thinking about a boy on the earth eating cake and I stop listening. I want to tell them to just give me letters, not words!!

Oh, dear...Sorry you lost a couple of followers, but that's likely more to do with "housecleaning" and not being able to keep up. Charlie's poetry wouldn't drive them away, surely.
As for the names...Well, Scott Sherman is okay, but Erasmus? Poor child. Truly.

That was a very strange name, the one starting with an E. I won't even try to spell it. And the Scott Sherman is hysterical. Charlie, you better watch out for Mum, she is on a roll. Take care.

The only Erasmus I ever knew was a Dane. And he was beautiful. (as Danes are)... He was an exchange student when I was in high school and MAN, did I have a crush on him... (so my answer is, I think in Denmark, it isn't so uncommon, but it's true... don't see it here, and apparently not much there...
