A story a day helps you work, rest and play!

Bloggie friends!! I have been a little barren in the writing of stories department when the lovely fairyhedghog introduced me to this amazing competition held by the Clarity of Night blog!

The criteria is to write a 250 word max story inspired by this pic:

My story is here.

Fairyhedgehog's wonderful story is here.

Please do get inspired and join too!!

I know mine will never win (cos it's rubbish!) but it's my first story in like 6 weeks and what is a story without readers?? Hint, hint! LOL!

Charlie says: I take shelter from the rain.

This week is so going to be a little miserable weather-wise - rain, grey, dull, rain! But I still wear my sandals and make do with very wet feet and oh so lovely pedicured nails! LOL!

Hello Charlie!
WE read your Mom's story and we could see where there was a lot of depth to it and so much more to be told!
Good story.

"Rubbish???" OMG I just read your story and it is simply magnificent!!

I am in awe of the story you created around that photo. Your imagery and writing is superb!

I'll trade weather...we are going to be in the mid to upper 90s all week like much of America. We are all broiling!!
((((hugs)))) to you and Charlie! Enjoy that pedicure!

We liked the story - the first comment was a little overly critical. Mom sucked her thumb for way longer than 3 years so the kid could be older.

I enjoyed your entry. :) Very intriguing. I wonder what the mother did to get a trip to paradise.

The weather where I am is also gray and wet. I'll have to suffer wet toes for a while.

We've had the worst July that I can remember. Rained most of last week. Fog this morning but right now it's in the 70's. Meredith and Ashton are on the deck enjoying the warmth. (it's a no escape kind of deck) Supposed to pour on Thursday.

I'll check out your writing blog info thingy.

I love the idea of framing a short story around a picture! I imagine it'd help you find inspiration in all sorts of random pictures.

It's been over 100 degrees in my state for days -- I'd swap forecasts with you in a heartbeat!

That is an amazing photo and the story photo isn't so bad either! You see what I did there Charlie? Going to read the stories now. x

Good luck with your story! What a great picture to work with. Charlie is looking as adorable as ever. But poor thing needs to get out of the rain! :P

I've been to read your story, it's amazing! Good luck to you xx

I think you need to continue that, too, as one of the comments stated. Very powerful, certainly begs to be expanded, IMO. :-)

I read Fairyhedgehog's too, and it left me gasping, "Oh!" at the end. Great reminder to be very, very careful what you wish for--and to be very specific when making that wish. As I've learned to my utter regret in my own life.

Charlie we know this weather is the pits - we go outside and it rains, mum complains she's cold and this is summer!! Mum says she has both read Jenn's story and also Fairyhedgehogs story - she enjoyed them both but we prefered your handsome furry face!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

I love Charlie he's so cute!!! As for the rain we're hoping that Houston gets a little. The drought has been daunting!

WE went and read your story and liked it a lot. You did such a good job making a story out of that hand. I don't think I could do that. That was very good. Hurry up Charlie and get out of that rain. Take care and have a great day.

Thanks for sending me over that way, Old Kitty! Have been to comment on yours and Fairy Headgehog's stories. :)

And how good are you to find some writing inspiration again. I need to find some as well - it's there, under the surface, just waiting for me... *searches*

I like your story & get the feeling of being aboard a boat & how you don't want to get seasick.

Looks like Charlie's not going to be hanging around out in the rain too long?

Hi Jennifer,
I left you a comment under your wonderful short story but I don't see it :(
I wonder if I wrote it under someone else's (sigh!)
Anyway, keep up the good work. Lovely story.

Charlie, you have a very talented "mom Kitty". And you look so nonchalant in the rain.

Charlies says, "I now give you permission to spoil me inside." And that thing in the distance od the picture looks very much like a wormhole.
