Concrete Cows

The good news is that today is the start of a three day weekend (30 August is a Bank Holiday and I have this Sunday off too). Yay!

The bad news is that today I will be in Milton Keynes as part of my department’s er.. Team Building thing. We won’t be visiting MK’s famous concrete cows (created by Canadian born artist Liz Leyh):

Nope. We will instead be cloistered within the hallowed walls of the Open University.

So I will be very and extremely late commenting on all your wonderful blogs!! But at least I’ll have the weekend to do these!! Yay!

Charlie says: No need for concrete cows when you’ve got me! Thank you sweet Sammy and Andy and mum for making me a cow. Wow.

And thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my Ode to Ye Coffee Bean! I was stressing out over my re-write and diversified a little. Into poetry. Next time I’ll try mixing it up a little with a shot of Drambuie! LOL!

All the above have clickable links btw!

Have a ferociously fab Friday everyone - me and Charlie will see you all very soon!

Happy Bank Holiday weekend!

Er... happy team building.

We had ton of cow sculptures all over Boston - each one has a different theme. Part of Cow Parade:

Do concrete cows produce concrete milk?

Dear friend, Jen and I wish you the most loveliest of weekends! We'll look forward to seeing you when you return to blogland.

Love the concrete cows and especially your coffee bean poem. You are a woman of many, many talents.

A hug for Charlie, too!

Erk. Nothing worse than a company "outing". Unless it's giving up coffee. I swear I will find a way to drink coffee even after I'm dead.

That's a shame. There's just nothing like a concrete cow to brighten your day :P Hope the trip goes well. And maybe if you're lucky, you;ll catch a glimpse!

Concrete cows! How very... interesting. :o)

Try and have fun being cloistered (love that word!) and think of the freedom you'll get the rest of the weekend.

Cheers!

I expect that the concrete cows are hiding behind the stacey bushes.

Have a nice day, Boonie

Have a good weekend although I'm not sure Milton Keynes is the place to do it. I'm a big fan of the OU though. How do you build teams? I've never been sure!

Concats to Charlie on being a cow kitty!

The concrete cows are interesting...but why are they there? LOL. Is this to pay tribute to days of yore and the common ground/pasture of a community?

And gee, lucky you and the team building. *Gag* I do hope it goes well. And you have a long weekend to recuperate. That's a good thing! :-)

No weekend off? That won't do! Still, you'll be at the Open University.

Have a fantastic weekend x

Love them! They remind me a little of Liverpool's Lambananas, which I adore. Does Charlie know you've called him a cow kitty? Because I bet HE thinks that breed should be called Charlie Cows.

Too bad you will be inside for part of the weekend especially when you could be visiting the concrete cows and enjoy the weather!
Thanks for commenting on my post about the 7 Signs of a Reputable Rescue today!

I remember endless, endless roundabouts in Milton Keynes, one after another, did you see those? Our team-building at my work consists of the three of us going to the local Costa every now and again for coffee and cake and brinstorming - very low stress! Hope yours went well, and have a lovely weekend. xx

What? No visit to the concrete cows? That's just not right!

Jenny Woolf said...

Ah you must still be in Mlton Keynes. Who is looking after Charlie? Surely he would not have wished to come along in his cat box. I have always thought cats are not into team building anyway :)

Yikes! Team building? I normally "hide" ... at the corners, or "ladies" ... name the darkest spots, I'm there!

Well, still ... team building can be fun and I hope you will enjoy yourself!!!

Thanks for the wonderful message on my blog. Hugs and love to wonderful, wonderful Jenn and cutie pie Charlie.

Have a greattttt weekend with love!
