Last of the summer ice cream

Bloggie friends!

Summer is truly over!

On Saturday, the sun shone, the birds sang, Charlie rolled around on the dirt and grass and I was still wearing my open-toe sandals, singing "Oh what a beautiful morning" while devouring a tub of chocolate flavoured frozen yoghurt.

On Sunday, not only did I return home from work drenched from the stormy rains but I was chilled from the cold and groping in the dark for my house keys as it was night time by 6.30 pm. Oh and Charlie hadn't moved from his sleeping position on my bed from the morning.

Roll on Christmas!

Charlie says:  Dirt and grass are good for my furrs.

(pic taken 22/09/12).

Have a warm and comfy week everyone!

p.s. great news about Squashies - she got two blood donors and is hanging on in there! Yay!

Hey Old Kitty and that lovably talented Charlie. Summer? Ah yes, I sorta', kinda' remember those fleeting glimpses of that mysterious glowing orb aka the sun :)
For your vast North American audience, "yoghurt" is "yogurt" or "yogourt"...with confusion and have a good week, eh.

That is some great news about Squashies :) Personally I prefer Autumn and Winter to Summer and even though I am getting quite cold, I'm still not about to stop eating ice cream :)

The only good thing about the cold stuff is Snuugle Season is right nice! Howdy Charlie!

Silly weather - from heat to cool in mere hours! We woke up to frost this a.m. but it was nice this afternoon.

Stay warm and cozy, both of you!

I'm glad to hear about Squashies.

I don't want this warm weather to end either. This time of year can feel like August or November. Hope you get more sunshine than rainy days! Poor you in the cold and rain. At least Charlie has a warm bed all day!

This was our hottest summer on record. Although we kitties didn't mind all the sun, the mom is glad this summer is over. She suffered through no AC for 5 days when the letracity went out in a big storm during a heat wave with temps of high 90's & more.

Clever Charlie, you are making the best of the warm sun while you can. Have a great week ahead. Purrs!

We've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting... for summer to be over, but nope! still a long way to go it seems!

♥Charlie looks devine as always!

Here in Colorado the leaves are starting to fall and our hottest summer on record is over. Hope we have a nice long mild autumn.

My fat old cat seldom moves from my office chair while I'm at work all day, but when I'm home she wants my lap and treats.

Christmas is fine, but I like Halloween more!

The weather is horrible isn't it! From lovely to ugh overnight!
But it's good news about Squashies! x

Wonderful about Squashies - not so wonderful about the winter setting in, when we havent even had autumn yet :-( I don't blame Charlie at all - for two pins I'd have still been on my bed, when I got home from work (eh?) ... You know what I mean :-)
Take care and here's to an indian summer ... Or at least, one more dry day before next June.

That is great news about Squashies.

The weather has finally cooled down where I am, but it's still too warm.

isn't it crazy how fast the weather changes.... Last night I went to an outside concert at the beach. I wore so many layers I could barely move!

Hey Charlie, the green grass looks a cozy place, perfect for a nap! Here the weather is changing a lot, I see several signs of Autumn around my place!
purrs, love and a great week to you all,

Glad to hear Squashies got some help!

Our weather has changed as well. I love fall when it's clean and crisp - not so much when it's dreary and rainy :)

Janet Johnson said...

Sigh. The end of Summer is truly a sad moment. But luckily I LOVE Autumn. :) Have a great day and keep warm!

Fuzzy Tales said...

Please don't mention ::whispers:: Christmas yet. Ugh.

It was a mere 6C this AM, as I left the house at 6:30, but at least it was plus 6C, not minus. LOL.

Hannah and Lucy said...

It was a huge shock to the system yesterday Jenn the temperature was so much lower and it is still raining hard here now over 24 hours later! We hope it had stopped for you when you had to go to work today. Say hello to Charlie for us.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Last of the ice cream?! NOOOOOO! There are thankfully a few fall flavors I love--pumpkin... eggnog...

I wish I got as much joy from rolling in the dirt as Charlie did...

LOL! That definitely sums up autumn/ winter for me. Groping for keys in the dusk to get into a darkened house to find snug kitties having been in their beds all day.
Hugs to Charlie and also to Squashie.

Summer may be officially over, but the temperature here in L.A. says otherwise. The light patterns look like autumn but that darn August heat wants to linger on. Come on cool weather.

Oh Charlie, that looks like so much fun to roll around in the grass. And darn it all, why did Mom have to bring up chocolate yogurt. Now I want some. Hope both of you have a great day.

Charlie stretch! He's super cute. It's getting darker so much sooner and it seems like one day it was still light out at 6:30 and the next it was dark. I miss summer already...

That's great that Squashies has two blood donors!

What a difference a day can make, huh? I'm always sad when summer ends, and even though it's officially Fall, we're expecting triple digit weather this weekend here in Southern California, so I get to wear my flip-flops a while longer. Yay! You have a great weekend, too, OC!

We are thrilled about Squashies too! We wills end some summer to you both!

It is still quite warm and humid here in NYC ...but I know that weather won't last much longer. I do love autumn and the cooler weather, I just wish the sun lasted longer as in summer!

D..J. Kirkby said...

We were astounded by the change in weather between the two days last weekend! I am hoping the first weekend in October will have much better weather on the Sunday as that is when we will be celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving (in England) and traditionally this is the last day we eat outdoors for the year.

Autumn is definitely here.
