The Speed of Light

Bloggie friends!!

Sometimes you lose your footing and go flying head first towards the pavement at such speed there is nowt you can do about it.

Except stagger up and pretend you’re super cool about what just happened and no of course your knee is not grazed and stinging like crazy and your pride hasn’t fled across the road yelling “You’re on your own mate, I’m off!”

Ahem.

I am treating myself to some Lindt Dark Chocolate Excellence range with a hint of salt to soothe my damaged ego.

Charlie says: I feel your pain. Honest I do.

Have a winsome Wednesday everyone!

Ouch! I hope you have only a minor injury, that you didn't wrench anything seriously. The Lindt dark chocolate sounds like a wonderful balm to a bruised ego--and body.

Big smooches, as always, to Charlie. How is doing now?

Ooooo we hope that you are OK!
But falling, yep it's something that happens in a blink of an eye.

Hi Charlie!
Give your Mom some extra purrs.

Ow, I am wincing in sympathy.
Now why is it that falling over hurts our pride so much?

I've taken many falls like this on icy walks. It's so embarrassing and your first impulse is just to get up as quickly as possible to restore your dignity. I hope you aren't suffering much with aches & pains.

Awww. I'm very clumsy, so my pride is often taking a vacation...my husband's favorite thing to tell me is "you're a danger to yourself." :D

LOL. Your cat looks like he is really empathetic. You might want to offer the cat some of your chocolate.

Awww. you poor thing, that is so embarrassing and painful, eat as much chocolate as you like now to recover.

Oh no! Poor knee! Dark chocolate is definitely the right remedy.

I can see how upset Charlie is about it.

hope your knee feels better! I completely embarassed myself at work yesterday and tried to just brush it off. I basically confused one frumpy dark haired woman with a different frumpy dark haired woman and I'm pretty sure the girl in question knew I'd confused them because they were dark haired and frumpy.

Laughed out loud at your description of pride fleeing across the road... Sorry you fell, but what a great image!

The last time I tripped, I was on stage in front of 500 people... that was memorable. Stupid high heels are SLIPPERY...

Oh, I hope you didn't hurt yourself!!

I fell recently on a street corner by stepping into a little divot in the grass against the sidewalk. I had a bag full of groceries and my clementines rolled across traffic. It was awful and embarrassing! An older lady helped me pick up my clementines when I just wanted to run away! Doesn't that make you feel a little better? lol!

We're sorry to hear you fell - don't suppose you could sue the council for a large sum of compensation - if you needed a witness to your fall I'm only a train rise away and I saw everything clearly!!
Hope your knee will not be too painful and the chocolate will ease the pain - the odd glass or two of wine could help (purely medicinal of course).
Hannah and Lucy send their best healing purrs and kisses xx xx

Oh no... I did that once - down the tube stairs. Not good.

Enoy the Lindt dark chocolate. Sounds like you deserve it!

I fall with some regularity, so I hear you. I hope you aren't hurt too badly! (Chocolate definitely is the right treatment)

Bummer--glad you are not hurt at least. And chocolate is a great cure all, isn't it?

Angel Ginger Jasper said...

There is nothing worse and why do we always get up and pretend nothing happened even though we hurt like mad. Pride indeed. I hope you are ok and that there was no more damage than a grazed knee. The chocolate sounds just the job to soothe. I so laughed at Charlies response.. Hugs GJ xx

Chocolate is the best thing for a damaged ego! :)

The last time I did that, I was outside of Grand Central Station in NY, bloodied my knee, and the cab I hailed took off without wondering if I was alive or not. No one stopped to help me. Sniff.
I feel your pain (and embarassment)

Oh lord, I do that all the time. Enjoy your chocolate treats.

Yes, that happens to all of us from time to time. You have my sympathy & if you're having Lindt chocolate then you should automatically feel better.

Here in the states we have a joke about it! We ask if the person who's fallen has had a nice trip! :)

He has stated in advance that you and Charlie are his Senior Centurions...just so you know..;-)

I hope the Lindt Chocolate soothed. I'm partial to the truffles myself.
