Off-line Adventing

Bloggie Friends!!!

I love advent calendars that countdown to Christmas Day with a mini chocolate treat just for me per day.

So I bought this RSPCA Advent Calendar from their online shop because the blurb said:

"Count down to Christmas with your pets with these fun advent calendars containing a mini treat for each day"

It never occured to me one bit that they didn't mean a chocolate treat for ME each day.

They meant of course, a mini cat food treat for the cat each day.

Charlie says: Merry Christmas to me!

Bloggie friends - I will be offline ALLLLL DAY TODAY!! So I will be very very very late reading your blogs!! Hopefully I'll catch up over the weekend!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Hello,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, here.
I'm going to have a bark with the guy I allow to live with me, yes that human, Gary. He'd better get an advent calendar for me with mini dog food treats.
Ha ha, Gary thinks this is a very funny blog, with a serious message, and so do I ! Hi Charlie, arf, arf.
Pawsitive wishes, Penny x

Wow, lucky Charlie! Now you need another calendar with chocolate for yourself!

BTW, I've emailed the donors of the auction items you bid on, gave them your address. (Rhonda at Junior and Orion, plus KC.) Copied you on the emails, so I think that's all I have to do at my end.

Have a good Friday!

It's a cat's life!

You are amazing, Jenn. It's amazing that you blog (almost) every day, and always have something bright, clever, witty, original to say. I sometimes wonder how I'm going to keep this blogging thing going!!

My Jen says hi. And we look forward to reading your bright, uplifting comment whenever you have time to open it.

A great weekend to YOU!!

Wow I would have never though of it being anything other than chocolate either. But I think that it is a great idea that they did one with cat treats - of course in our house it would have to be hidden because of the fact that they would shred it by the end of the first day (if it actually made it that long!) I hope that Charlie is better about waiting then we all would be!

I love those advent calendars. My mom always bought one every year when I was a kid (no chocolate, but you'd open and see a nice Christmas-y picture), then when she became a grandma, she made sure all her grandchildren had one as well to enjoy. Just thinking about advent calendars reminds me of my mom.

I'd forgotten all about British advent calendars with the chocolates! The last one I had we got at the Cadbury Factory in Birmingham, and it was delicious. My little bean used to beg to have more than one, and every day I would say, "No, no, tomorrow you can have another." What a delicious way to count down to Christmas.

Man I miss it over there.

Oh, I love the idea of a kitty advent calendar! I won't need one for this holiday, though - my foster cats are being adopted! So that's big, exciting (and sad, because I will miss them!) news for me. I'm glad Charlie gets to enjoy his (although you get to have another one for you, right? :))

Thanks so much for your comments and kind words on my blog - I've been a total slacker lately in terms of visiting myself, sort of swamped with school and work and the writing itself, and I really appreciate your blogging friendship. :) I should be around a lot more with the holidays and school being out soon!

That's funny that it is cat treats.

Thank you for your kind words on Gatsbi's passing over to The Bridge. She will be very missed here. It was difficult to get her ashes on Wednesday as well. Hard to believe she is gone.

That's so funny! Neither of my kids really like chocolate much, so when I bought them advent calendars when they were younger, there was always leftover for me! :)

I never thought of that. Advent calendars for cats. My kids love the chocolate ones. I sometimes sneak a pice o two then blame the others for it.
