Number's up

I admit that in the last month, I dabbled in the weekly lottery draw online. For a £1 a week I get to pick six numbers that never make it.

So imagine my excitement when I got this email from the National Lottery website with the subject heading “News about your ticket”.

Bloggie friends!!!! My numbers came up!

Oh ok, I got one number in the Dream number lotto and won £2.00!!! Yay!!

So what has this itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini of a win taught me?

To not scream "I won, I won" before going round telling your workmates and your boss what you really think of them and to not buy that island off the coast of Bora Bora before opening the said email.

Charlie says: No escape hatch to next door for me here. I wonder if the silly human notices how I've left the bin bucket out of its holder?

Have a temporal Tuesday everyone!

Aha! So no 'Tahiti treat' for you. There certainly is a lesson to be learnt, here. Then again, £2 can buy you some really nice biscuits as a peace offering to your workmates and yes, an extra biccie for the boss:-)
Have a peaceful morning.
Gary :-)

Oh, I love this, Jenn. You've made my evening and Jen's. To shout I won, I won! I think I have done something quite similar to this somewhere in my long life, but who wants to remember? I plead temporary dementia.

Do have a wonderful Tuesday! Jen says Hi to you and Charlie. So do I.

That's ok - a win's still a win! I'll bet that a certain feline might appreciate a new nip toy purchased with those winnings.

Haha I hope you didn't REALLY tell those women at work what you think of them. Altho, I don't know, maybe it wouldn't hurt :)

Crap. I tell my boss what I think of him every day. In detail. I don't have to stop, do I?

Hahaha that's so funny! In your defence I would of thought the same thing If I saw that email. Hopefully you didn't get in too much trouble with your work mates and your boss ;)

Temproal Tuesday??? This is better than a tempetious Tuesday. Did I spell that right? Its late here on this side of the Pond so I'll do the best I can. Have a great week!

Two whole pounds, Kitty? Don't spend it all at once!

What was Charlie doing in the bath?

Kea said...

Ah, no early retirement then. Too bad! The most I've ever won is $5, I think, which is about 2 pounds! (No British pound key on this keyboard.)

I've given up on lotto tickets. Now I just wish my dad would win multi-millions so I can take early retirement...or at least work part time. LOL.

Big smooches to Charlie; I hope he's doing well now.

What on earth was Charlie doing in the bath? Don't tell me he was having a dip? For two pounds you can't get an island, that's true, but you could buy a flower or two for your boss:)

take care

Two pounds would buy you a three course meal at a roadside stall over here. Of course the airline ticket to get here might wipe out any savings that you make when you arrive. C’est le lotto!

Have a nice day, Boonie

My dad always says when we have a small win at least we know the numbers are in there kicking and maybe one day.. Hugs GJ x

Awww, congrats - a small victory is still a victory! Maybe it's just a preparation for a bigger one. ;) Get yourself a nice little treat anyway. Enjoy!

What? No island off the coast of Bora Bora? I was looking forward to a visit!

Oh well! Just don't go mad with it I say!

Jenn - you must have the same numbers mum has if they don't win.
What address shall we send our begging letter to now that you've won all that cash!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Well, we don't think that's enough to quit your job, but it could buy Charlie some excellent treats!

Make sure you don't spend it all at once!

Hey, £2 is better than nothing! I say celebrate - lash out on... a cupcake? Two cartons of Value orange juice from Tesco?

Well done! (I think I also mean well done for not telling your boss to get lost) :)

Congratulations on your big win! :)

Hi Charlie, let me guess you stay far away from the tub when it has water in it!

lol! Congrats! You are very lucky today~ :o) It's possible you could buy a postcard of Bora Bora... ;p

Hey, something is better than nothing. Congrats on winning the lottery, sort of. That really is exciting even if you can't buy an island. Take care.

Hey, you always win until some silly human proves otherwise...but the thought was fun! Go pick a winner Charlie!

Hi Old Kitty,
My only concern with the email you got is that it could have been spam. Be careful! A lot of people spread viruses with a subject line regarding the lottery. If I don't recognize the sender, I delete it. Well, at least Charlie will get some treats with the 2$ winning tix. ;)

Ha ha! You crack me up every time! And a win is a win. :-)

Think how miserable a really big win might've made you (go on, try ...!)
Better luck next time, eh?
All best

A Win is A Win!!! But I agree, refrain from major purchases and home truths until the extent of the win is known.

Congratulations! Hey, a win is a win . . . no matter how much it is. :D

Kat_RN said...

Oh dear! I hope you didn't really tell them....
Better luck next time with the lotto.

Oh well but this might mean bigger wins are in store if your luck has changed.

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

Ah....the joy of the win followed by the misery of finding it was not exactly a first place win! There is a story here!

lupie said...

Heheheh!

Well Jenn, we Chinese believe, first win is the beginning of something big!

Maybe not "lottery"

But, a top-selling novel perhaps!!

Thanks for the caring comments! You are such a great friend!

I am glad you opened the letter before telling your coworkers what you thought of them. That kind of money won't even get you a coffee at Starbucks. Maybe next time.

As they say for NY State Lotto, "You've gotta be in it to win it."

The Words Crafter said...

This was funny. You made me LOL! Still, you did win....

Hey, you won something and that's great! It's neat that you get an email to tell you you've won. We've got to look up the numbers online or watch on tv ourselves.
